    Anyone deep fried with ghee?

My husband's dream is to somehow deep fry a turkey in butter. To avoid burning the butter, we wondering if you could deep fry with ghee? I stumbled across a few sites on google that said some have done it, so I was hoping a brave primal cook could report back how deep frying with ghee turned out.

Since it appears to be possible, we really want to know if ghee retains the "buttery" taste we're going for? Also, if you don't deep fry with ghee, what oils do you fry with?

Apparently ghee has a really high smoke point: 485 F. So I would think it would be good for frying.
