    loving the "chefs" here...pretty cool!

Made 2 recipes from Mark's Primal Cookbook this week already...

    ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!

Fish Soup (salmon, shrimp, cocnut milk, basil, ginger, cauliflower, carrots, lemon and others....YUM!)

Last night had Shrimp Cake Salad...UNREAL!
Purple cabbage, spinach leaves, carrots, cukes...dressing was to die for: coconut milk, almond butter, mint leaves-fresh, cilantro-fresh, fresh squeezed lime juice...just absolutely amazing!

If all primal dishes are this good...I will NEVER miss my former favs...these are already taking over! (and I feel better too!! which is the most important!)

I was away for a few days, and the forum doesn't work so hot on my iphone. I love the links to food, Most of the stuff I've been posting has been stuff I've cooked on my BGE (Big Green Egg). I should probably start a food blog (I'll put some of the cooking details in for each items I post) Hope others post more Food Porn too!

So to prove I don't just cook 'meat' Here's my Okra/Mint Roast recipe.
Some people don't like Okra because they think it's slimy - here's a way to cook it where it will NOT be slimy.

    - 1 bunch of Okra from my farmers market CSA
    - half a cup of mint from the yard
    - half a red onion, or whatever onion really
    - 5 cloves of garlic sliced
    - some heirloom cherry tomatoes (optional)
    - 1/4 cup of olive oil
    - salt/pepper
    - a roasting pan or tray with parchment paper on it. (makes clean up a cinch and nothing sticks to the pan)

Toss it all in a bowl

after 10 minutes at 400 degree, broil it for 2 more minutes (gives it a nice crisp)

    serve it up and delicious!

I wouldn't recommend adding cumin or other spices to it, it interferes with the mint playing off the okra flavors. If you wish to do that, I'd recommend replacing the mint with another herb that's not to heavy on the flavor. This recipe makes a perfect slimeless okra.

This was a quickie cook job on Saturday - My primal patties

1 lb of grass fed local beef
2 slices of heritage pork bacon
    1/2 a medium onion
    1 medium egg

(optional: 1/2 cup of peppers of any kind)

For chicken, simply olive oil and salt/pepper.

    Monday nite:

Ok, this was perhaps better than the black sea bass - hogfish!

What is a Hogfish? It's a transexual wrasse!
This was caught locally, they occasionally come up to NC, though it's primarily a Florida-ish fish.

It has a very similar taste to grouper, but a tad milder - and the texture is much flakier.

    I like the snaggle tooth.

I stuffed this one with some locally grown Shitake mushrooms (oh man they tasted delicious) and simply used salt/pepper and olive oil. If I had more fig leaves, I would have used those with coconut oil.

Cook for about 8 minutes per side - yes, I recommend flipping it!

I really recommend eating the ENTIRE Fish. The best parts are on the cheeks, head, and tail. Eyeballs are also tasty, though I'm more into the socket.

Drooooool!!! How can people really think this way of life is not healthy? Look at all that fresh vibrant, delicious food!

I think I should maybe tart taking pictures of what I eat and adding them to my blog.

Definitely take pictures! Post them up! I found Flikr to be the most forgiving for immediate posts. I need to post my 'Nutbutter Cups' I made up this week. Been too busy with work to eat more than bacon and sausages.
