Anyone have some good soothie ideas?
Hi guys, been eating Primal for one week now, and although I really do like my (whole!) eggs in the morning, I need some variety. I ordered the cookbook, but it's not here yet.
I'm a big fan of smoothies in the morning, but I used to make them with whey powder, OJ and blueberries, which would be far too many carbs. Does anyone have any ideas I could use? I know yogurt helps some. Thanks!
I use Jay Robb chocolate whey protein and coconut milk ... 2 carbs in a cup ... YUM!!!
i alternate these during the work week because i'm usually rushed:
1 tbsp chia seeds soaked overnight in 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
-optional flavors (add vanilla extract, cinnamon or cocoa powder)
throw in some fruit if you want
1 scoop unflavored jarrow hemp protein + 1 c unsweetened almond milk
(my fave is vanilla extract, 1/2tsp maca powder & loads of cinnamon)
-i add a couple spoons of canned pumpkin for a "fall flavor"
1/2 avocado + fresh mint leaves + 1c unsweetened almond milk=SHAMROCK SHAKE!! i add a little stevia to sweeten the deal, this is prob my fave shake
1 cup coconut milk, 1 T nut butter, 1 frozen banana. If you're feeling feisty, a bit of dark chocolate or a scoop of cocoa powder. Take you right through lunchtime.
Here's my smoothie:
Plain full fat greek yogurt
A handful of whatever leafy green stuff I have around
A couple chunks of frozen pineapple
About 1/4 of an avocado
