Homemade DIY (Do It Yourself) Pull Up Bar set-up.
Materials:
Four (4) 2' x 4' x 8' Econo Studs (Lumber) @ $1.50 each = $6.00
One (1) small box of 2 1/2" Weed Screws @ $5.00 box = $5.00
One (1) 1" x 60" Iron Pipe (Threaded on both ends) @ $15.00 = $15.00
Two (2) 1" Iron Caps (Threaded) @ $1.50 each = $3.00
The procedure is really simple and I will follow this post up with pics a little bit later as I make it.
Step 1. Take two (2) of the 2x4x8's and cut them into 2' lengths and set aside.... these will be used to make simple stabilizer brackets.
Step 2. Take the other two (2) 2x4x8's and mark the center four (4) inches down from just ONE (1) end.
Step 3. Drill a one and a half (1 1/2) inch hole where you just marked on both 2x4x8's mentioned in Step 2.
Step 4. Assemble Stability Brackets (See Pics shortly)
Step 5. Set the two full length 2x4x8's with the holes towards the top that you just drilled.
Step 6. Insert the 1" x 60" Iron Pipe into the holes you made. Make sure they go all the way through the holes.
Step 7: Screw Threaded 1" Iron Caps to the ends of the Iron Pole
DONE!!!!
Additional Options:
a. Make Additional Holes for Adjusting Height of Iron Bar
b. Wrap Iron Bar in Duct Tape
This is super simple, yet VERY effective and can easily be taken apart and put away if need be.
As I mentioned I will post up some pics shortly.
Enjoy!
