    believe it or not, female nerds are highly sought after in certain social circles. the comic shop owner was thrilled to pieces when i used to show up for magic:the gathering tournaments. (way back at the beginning when it was good.) my son wasn't sure whether or not to be embarrassed when his friends said "dude! your mom totally killed me!"

    I am on the verge of nerd... My friends say they can't categorize me but I verge on a lot of things including nerdom... my distaste for Star Wars and Star Trek are what lost me there... DAMNED NERD POINTS!

    I choose to kindly remove myself from those discussions... I know NOTHING of them because I can rarely stand to make it through 10 minutes of the movies/television shows they are related to...

    Ok, so, would like some help from anyone that can help me with this.... since I have been re-reading Primal Blueprint, I wanted to sit down with it and really figure out my macro-nutrient calculations.... but I want to make sure that the numbers I have crunched are correct. So, if there is anyone that can help out and look over my numbers and let me know if I am correct in them or really daft, I would greatly appreciate it.

    Now, I went ahead and just weighed myself.... granted I have eaten today, drank a ton of water so that will have a slight effect on my true weight but I am using it as my "control" in figuring out my numbers. The calculations are based on the calculations formulas in the book. This is what I have got so far:

    Weight as of this moment 256 w/ 30% body fat (76.0 lbs).

    256 - 76.80 = 179.2 (Lean Body Mass) note: I am rounding it to 179

    179 (LBM) x 0.7 = 125.3 grams (501.2 calories) per day of PROTEIN.

    Well here is the next part... I wanted to learn what amount of calories I should be at daily, my BMR, my Activity Factor, etc... this is what I came up for that:

    I looked online and found a couple BMR Calculators.. My BMR is 2319.39

    2319.39 (BMR) X .55 (Activity Factor Formula) = Activity Factor 1275.66

    2319.39 (BMR) + 1275.66 (Activity Factor) = 3595.05 Calories Per Day (That is friggin insane!!)

    Now, I have a goal of dropping 8 lbs a month which gives me (according to the book) a 932 calorie Deficit.

    3595.05 (Daily Cals Max) - 932 (Deficit) = 2663.05 Max Calories Per Day
    __________________________________________________ _________

    The next part SHOULD show me what the max amount of FAT I should be taking in after I subtract the amount of Protein and Carbs... so let's see...

    2663.05 (MCPD) - 501.2 (Calories from Protein) = 2161.85 Calories

    2161.85 Calories - 300 (Calories from Carbs) = 1861.85 Calories

    According to those calculations (again, using formulas from Primal Blueprint), I should be consuming daily:

    125.3g (4.4198 ounces) of PROTEIN

    75g (2.645 ounces) of CARBS

    and

    206.87g (7.297 ounces) of Healthy FAT


    Does that seem right? To me the Protein looks low.... but according to what I read.... or should I say what thought I understood what I read (more likely the case) it is right as well as the amount of Carbs and Healthy Fat.....



    Again, I am not getting wrapped up in the numbers, this is more for personal understanding and knowledge of how it is supposed to work (regarding the calculations) and such.

    Would love input on this and help making sure I am doing this right or if I am off base.
