600 lbs, non-cheese, non-milk dairy average?!?! I guess the yogurt advertising is working! Come to think of it I always see tons of shoppers hovering around the yogurt case staring blankly at all the fruit-like sugar filled options as they throw insane amounts of Dannon and Activia in their carts. SAD indeed.

Yogurt, that's probably it. I was having a hard time with that too, since they do split milk out separately. Hahahaha, Activia...the SNL versions of the Jamie Lee Curtis commercials crack me up.

600 pounds noncheese nonbeverage dairy? Yogurt is all I can think of (and ice cream I guess) - but that's an average of 26 ounces a day. Over 3 cups a day, everyday. Really?

2700 calories a day is not enough for their little fat person picture there for someone who exercises / trains!

    Just saying!

    Good God.

Wheat flour + dairy products + corn/corn syrup = practically 50% of the diet on the circle thingy

And look at all that artificial sweetener!!

Did anyone else try out that calorie recommendation link at the bottom? I decided to plug in my stats just for fun and it recommended I eat over 450 grams of carbs a day to maintain my current weight...are you f*cking kidding me?! I laughed my ass off!

I remember seeing a food pyramid many years ago representing how we REALLY eat and remember seeing dairy on the bottom. Still surprises me, though. It really does a number on the theory of milk as essential to prevent osteoporosis and other bone diseases. Even more surprised to see that we are only eating ~1/2 lb of grains and cereals every day. I'd be curious to see how they gathered this data.

Yeah, I don't understand that either -- maybe they think we're all drinking a milkshake every day, and not counting that as a beverage?
