Wake up at the same time every day or sleep in until you naturally wake up?
For the past week or so I've been waking up consistently every morning at 7 a.m. to get into a routine, but I've felt tired and require a nap almost daily in the afternoons. I give myself two hours of down-time every night and aim for 9 hours of bed-time, which gives me at least 8 to 8 1/2 hours of actual sleep once I've drifted off. This means I start winding down by 8 p.m. every evening.
Would it be a better idea to keep winding down at 8 p.m., but allow myself to wake up naturally without an alarm to get all the sleep I need? Waking up at different times would cause circadian rhythm disruptions, wouldn't it? I'm not sure what the best choice is between getting all the sleep I need without interruption or maintaining a strict circadian rhythm.
