    Heart rate alarm gear

Hello all! I'm currently working on solidifying my aerobic base. Curious what options are out there for heart rate monitoring while running. Is there any kind of chest strap and iPhone app combo where you can set alarms audible or vibration on iPhone?

I'm currently using a Fitbit Blaze and having to look at my wrist every time there is a slight terrain change has become cumbersome.

    Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

I use a Polar H7 chest strap and the Wahoo app on my phone. You can set custom audio alerts for target heart rates. It works pretty well! Sometimes it takes a few minutes for the chest strap to start working right. Maybe just needs some sweat :-)

Thanks! Any reason you went with the Polar chest strap over the Wahoo strap?

Mostly so I wouldn't have to buy an ANT+ adapter. The Polar uses Bluetooth, so it can talk to my phone directly.

The Wahoo site shows that all the tickr bands are Bluetooth 4.0 and Ant+.

Well that sounds pretty awesome! I wish the Polar had ANT+ sometimes.

Definitely use a chest strap and not one of the wrist bands. And Polar makes the best ones.
