Unhappy Had a bit of bread and now I feel like CRAP

I've been off grains for about 2 months now and today I decided to eat a bit of a wrap that was part of a chicken salad and I am paying for it big time. Gas, horrible cramping, bloating like I'm 3 months pregnant and I feel sooooo tired. The piece was only about the size of my palm!

Is there anything I can do to make this pain go away? It's been 2 hours since I had the wrap and I'm still bloated and tired!

I am never eating bread again for as long as I live. It wasn't this bad before but I think because I cut bread out for 2 months my body was finally detoxing and then BAM I go and mess it up.

Isn't it amazing that we used to eat this stuff all the time? I'm in awe of the feeling of not having bloating... People keep asking me how i'm able to not eat bread... its easy when you know it was bread that was making you feel like crap.

I HATE the feeling... more than i love the taste of bread.

I don't know what to do for it other than time/water...

Ginger tea would be my best shot. It always seems to help me out if ever I poison myself.

The lady who wrote "Primal body primal mind" says that for the more extreme cases of gluten intolerance the gut can remain inflamed for months after eating gluten. Hence the mantra "if you're going to cheat, for the love of god keep it gluten free!". Though I think that gliadin and WGA are harmful to everyone regardless of celiac status.

try gasx to remove some of the gas. there is also glutenease supplement, which I haven't tried yet, but supposedly helps with digesting gluten, when you need to do it.

Fast for a day. You will feel good as new. I had a huge bowl of spaghetti yesterday. Lol

I agree with the fasting if you feel up to it. Also staying well hydrated.

When I went gluten free 5 years ago, I noticed that when I would have small amounts of wheat (like one bite), I seemed to be super sensitive because I had cut it out in normal eating. Now, I think my gut has mostly healed and I can tolerate wheat, dairy and other things, but I choose to stay away, especially from wheat gluten.
