    Primal Fuel

    Stats:

    20-year-old female

    5'6"

169 lbs as of this morning

I'll try to find a tape measurer tomorrow for bust-waist-hips

    From the goals thread:

I've been steadily losing weight since I started primal but I haven't been putting a lot of effort in, and I know I could lose weight faster.

    -Lose 10 lbs.

    -Daily physical activity

    -Daily dose of sun

    -Increase vegetable intake

    -Daily stretching

-Try at least 1 24-hour fast

-Mental exercise (meditation, replace bad thoughts with good thoughts, read more, etc.)

    So, here goes!

    8/3

B: cup of smoothie (blueberries, kale, greek yogurt, a little bit of soymilk and stevia)

L: 1 sunnyside-up egg, green beans with butter with the last bit of almond meal in the bag, and a cup of coffee

D: ate at Unos: grilled chicken with mango salsa, with steamed broccoli and mixed veggies, and half of the bananas foster (ice cream with bananas and caramel sauce)

S: a bit of fruit cocktail

    WOD: 2 mile walk

    Day 2: 8/4

    B:

-squash and green beans with butter

    L:

-Muscle Milk (I was feeling crummy before work and figured I should get something in my stomach...tasty, but expensive, and not as calorie-dense as I had hoped, only 230 cal in a 14oz bottle!)

-med iced coffee with half-and-half and splenda

    D:

    -broccoli cheddar quiche sans crust

-large iced coffee with half-and-half and splenda

    D...2:

    -tea

    -chicken tikka masala

    -a bit of rice

    WOD:

-work! My job is a little physical and requires constant movement...I bus tables, wash dishes, load/unload the dishwasher, take out the trash, etc. (work also explains my increased coffee consumption)

-2 mile walk after the late Indian dinner

Most definitely under-ate, which isn't helped by having no food. No primal food anyway. But, grocery shopping this afternoon after work!

    Day 3: 8/5

    B:

    -fruit cocktail

    S:

-med London Fog (Earl Grey and steamed milk)

-large iced coffee with whole milk and splenda

    L:

    -med London Fog

-chicken tikka masala (ate at the Indian place again)

    -chicken vindaloo

-some sort of mushroom curry thing

    -rice pudding (augh! I'm bad)

D: roommates went out and got Chinese, so...

    -broccoli in oyster sauce

    -beef

    S:

    -1/2-ish of an apricot

-1/2 of a Naked protein smoothie

    WOD:

    -work

Finally got groceries so hopefully less eating out...I haven't been doing very good primal so far (which is sad considering this is the 30 day challenge), so I wanna get things back in gear.

    Day 4: 8/6

    B:

    -2 eggs

    -2 slices uncured bacon

    -broccoli sauteed in butter

-iced coffee with almond milk and stevia

    L:

-smoothie: blueberries, kale, apricot, greek yogurt, almond milk

    S:

-can of tuna with mayo and dill

    -banana

    D:

-pork with lots of juicy goodness

    -broccoli

    -kale

    WOD:

    -2 mile walk

Ate fine, even during the pizza- and cookie-laden staff meeting. It helps that two of my roommates work there too, and they know about my worries about gluten intolerance, so their presence makes it easier to stay on track with that. Major issue though: I've had problems with my right wrist on and off for a while, but now it seems pretty bad. Numb arm has woken me up two days in a row now, and the only way to stop it from feeling weird and get back to sleep is to hang it off of the side of the bed. Carpal tunnel? I should pick up a brace...

    Day 5: 8/7

    B:

    -almond milk with whey protein

    -banana

    S:

-2 iced coffees with whole milk and splenda

    L: California Pizza Kitchen

-3 Avocado Club Rolls sans the roll

-most of a Waldorf Chicken Salad

    D:

-greek yogurt with blueberries and 1/2 banana

    WOD:

    -work

-brief walk (probably only a mile)

Wasn't feeling so great - I was achy and tired and hungry at work in the morning, then in the afternoon/evening my stomach wasn't doing so hot and I was still tired so I took a short nap. Then had a strong craving for sweets (namely tart frozen yogurt). Fell asleep without any problems, though, and no annoying arm stuff during the night.

I also fit into a pair of jeans that I haven't worn since high school. Woo.

    Day 6: 8/8

    B:

    -1 egg

    -2 strips of uncured bacon

    -leftover waldorf salad

    S:

    -iced coffee

    -London Fog

L: went to an Asian food court/grocery store

-roast duck and pork, I skipped the rice that came with it

    -cup of ginger ale

    S:

    -apple

    D:

    -pork

    -thin-sliced cooked cinnamon apples

-broccoli and green beans with butter

    -1/3 of a mashed plantain

    WOD:

    -work

Felt fine at work, fine in the afternoon, took a brief nap, ate dinner...felt awful. Horrible stomach pain for a while. Constipation sucks. On the plus side, plantains are pretty awesome.

Down to 167 lbs pre-morning-bathroom-trip. I'll have to update my journal for the past two days soon.

    Day 7: 8/9

    B:

-almond pancakes with butter and a little maple syrup

    L:

    -kale-blueberry-greekyogurt smoothie

    D:

    -skipped

    WOD:

    -work

Really low food intake, I felt pretty yucky and I got home from work late. Senna capsules are nice for constipation relief, at least.

    PrimalCon New York

    Day 8: 8/10

    B:

-mini almond meal blueberry pie (almond meal would be much better as a graham cracker-y crust; the stevia was a little overpowering)

    L:

    -skipped

    D:

    -buffalo wings

    -chicken caesar salad

    WOD:

    -none!

Still wasn't feeling well and it was really hot and humid out so I was lazy for the day.
