Atkins by the book isn't much different from the PB, but the focus is on carbohydrate restriction, which has led a lot of people to conclude that they can eat anything as long as it is low-carb -- Atkins bars, fast food meals, dressings and sauces made with soy or corn oil, low-carb pasta and low-carb tortillas. But these foods aren't healthy and the PB doesn't allow them.

I also must include concentrates, such as fruit juices.

I'm not sure if anyone stated this really clearly yet - PRIMAL IS NOT A DIET. That's the difference between this and Atkins. There are no "phases," clubs to join, branded foods, etc. Instead it requires spending time learning about science, nutrition, health and wellness. It's more of an educational endeavor than anything else.
Primal is merely a set of comprehensive ideas about how the body works best, along with specific recommendations on how to be a healthy individual in the modern world. Since most people are overweight, they tend to lose weight as part of becoming healthier. That is all.

    Major difference:

Atkins = Low Carb Only Diet

Primal Blueprint = Lifestyle - Exercise, Diet, Play, Sleep, etc...
Diet wise: focus on NATURAL foods, higher fat, medium protein, low carb. Probiotics, Natural Remedies etc.
