    Worried I'll lose weight.

Hello! I'm already semi-primal as it were and plan to go fully into it within a month or so however I admit I'm worried I'll lose weight cutting out all the grains etc as they currently offer an easy way to bulk out of a meal. I need around 3500 calories a day to maintain my current weight and ideally I would be 15lbs heavier. Did anyone have similar concerns when going primal?

You won't lose weight as long as you meet your goal calories.

Well that is true of course. I guess what I'm really worried about is how much more this is going to cost me - grains sure are cheap in comparison.

So are meats, eggs, butter, olive oil.

A loaf of bread (the ones I seen my mom buy) is like 5$. 5$ can get my two pounds of meat, ~3 dozen eggs, etc.

While I'm not in remotely the same boat, I'll say that if Mark can look like he looks without the grain, I don't think losing too much weight should be a great concern.
He's done a few articles about putting on weight. It seems like the key to that is extra protein and being super careful about having lots of calories (ie extra fat) in your diet.

Yeah, grains are cheaper, but if you're looking for cheap protein, I'd go with lots of eggs and/or making friends with a local butcher and getting his extra bits for a cheaper price. As for lots of fat - butter is about the cheapest, I think. At least cheaper than coconut oil or palm oil.

It seems like most people don't lose weight unless they need to...I have stayed the exact same weight.

Mark is a lot more muscular than I am; I seem to have the natural build of a long distance runner but seeing as Mark was one of those then I have no excuse!

Have you seen the pics on his blog from when he was a competitive triathlete? Look 'em up, I think they will inspire and reassure you. If you switch away from long distance running and carbs, you can really transform your body.

Is there a link to that? I did a search and didn't find it.
