    My goals for the month:

    1) Keep carbs to 100 grams/day or less.

    2) Do some sort of activity six days a week for at least thirty minutes.

    3) Stay grain-free.

    4) Get more than six hours of sleep a night.

    20090803 - Wednesday - Day One

Carbs: 95 This is higher than I'd like, but I have never, ever done low-carb before, so it is a bit of a learning experience.

Activity: 38 minutes, 35 of which was on the treadmill (walking, 3 miles per hour). Keeping a low heart rate (70% or so) was difficult, as I usually try to work at 85%.

Grain-free: Not a problem today, even when the boyfriend was eating a Krispy Kreme donut in front of me this evening.

    Sleep: Won't know until tomorrow.

    20090804 - Thursday - Day Two

Carbs: 92 (fiber 28). Again, higher than I'd like.

Activity: 50 minutes of lifting heavy things and walking on an incline.

    Grain-free: Again, not a problem.

Sleep: 7 hours (and 7 hours Monday night). I've woken up exhausted both mornings, though.

So far, my allergy symptoms seem to be lessening a bit.

    20090805 - Wednesday - Day Three

Whoops, had the wrong day of the week for yesterday.

Carbs: 49 (Fiber, I don't have that with me, but I think it was around 20). My breath was horrible that day.

    Activity: none.

    Grain-free: Yep.

Sleep: A really crappy, chopped-up six hours or so.

20090806 - Thursday (the real one) - Day Four

    Carbs: 82

Activity: Wii Fit for 49 minutes. Kept a low heart rate throughout. Only did this due to a massive headache that does not seem to want to go away.

Grain-free: Yes, but I broke down & had some chocolate (organic), so I had some sugar.

Sleep: Maybe six hours. I wasn't tired, and the PB had finally arrived, so I was up late reading.

    20090809 - Sunday - Day Seven

    Carbs: 67 (fiber 6)

Activity: Nothing specific, but I was out running errands most the day.

    20090810 - Monday - Day Eight

I was craving chocolate/sweets like crazy, and I'm not sure why. I also felt, for the first time since starting this, really run down.

    Carbs: 87 (fiber 25)

    Activity: Nothing

Grain-free: Yes. Had a very small Larabar.

    Sleep: 7 hours or so.

    -----

    20090811 - Tuesday - Day Eight

Carbs: 55 (fiber 25) I also had no dinner (so by tomorrow morning I will have gone ~18 hours without food).

Activity: Did the P90X fit test.

    Grain-free: Yes.

Sleep: Will know tomorrow, but probably only 5-6 hours, since I finished the fit test around 10:15pm.

I have not been posting daily, but have been adhering to my goals (I went over by 6 carbs one day, to 106) - until Tuesday. Then I said screw it yesterday, and boy, am I feeling like hell today. Nothing like heart palipitations after eating only carbs on an empty stomach to scare one, and the resulting stomach pain from eating crap (carbs, grains, etc) from questionable origin to bring one back to eating primally very quickly.
