Does anyone have any research on the accuracy of bioelectrical impedence for body fat measurement compared to direct measurement? I know they aren't very accurate based on hydration levels and yadda yadda yadda, but does anyone have any hard facts on it?
I wrote a series of articles on body composition testing on my site. This article discussed BIA. The bottom line is that all techniques (even techniques like hydrostatic weighing) are rough predictions at best. BIA is pretty poor and has a very large error rate within individuals.
