    Nobnom

    Hi everyone,

I just want to know if anyone has experience with NOBNOM and what their experiences are. For those who are unfamiliar. I will link this.

The 30-Day Challenge: No Booze, No Masturbating (NOBNOM) | The Blog of Author Tim Ferriss

I am 21 days in. I can say it's been a struggle on the weekends. The no alcohol consumption part is easy, the latter, not so much. My urge starts to kick in right after a hard workout.
My productivity has increased across my parts of my life. However, my time away from pornography is spent talking to women online. I thought I would start talking to random women off the street, but that has not happened.

I'd like to hear what you guys and gals think about this experiment and if this is something healthy. I always thought sex was a primal instinct.

This looks very targeted to men in relationships. He says sex is okay, but masturbating isn't. Except for the single person of discerning tastes or perhaps someone just too weird to get laid on a regular basis, masturbating might be their only form of sex.

Porn is a whole other aspect of sex. If online porn is eating into the productive quality of your day, probably like any other negative distraction, it should be reigned in. But straight up masturbation takes what? Five minutes? That's not going to keep anyone from fulfilling their daily responsibilities or goals.

I have experience not drinking anywhere from a couple of weeks to a month. But like dairy, no one can convince me that orgasms aren't healthy.

    Joanie,

I know from my friends and myself that it is not just a five minute thing.
A lot of time can be spent finding material for the activity at hand. No pun intended.

MisterFrancis, there are benefits to cultivating one's imagination so that "material" is not required.

    Meepster,

Sorry I am part of a generation where adult material is readily available.
It's very hard for me to use my imagination, even when I an sleeping.
I guess that's why I find this challenge intriguing.
