Cold Showers-Becoming Comfortable with Being Uncomfortable

    Primal Fuel
    Hi all,

I've recently completed Joel Runyon's 30 day cold shower challenge. I learnt a lot more from the challenge than I thought I would and given MDA is a focus for positive change, thought that my experience could help fellow Groks get out of their comfort zones.

I love it, entertaining and I agree. Just wish I wasn't such a lightweight when it comes to cold showering.

I have been doing cold showers for the past few months. To be honest, it hasn't been much of a challenge since I'm either in Egypt or Texas and this time of the year our cold water really isn't.

What does make it a bit more of a challenge is to start off with the water as hot as you can stand it, get comfortable with that then turn it quickly to cold. Even in Texas ambient temperatures, it hits pretty hard.

But this winter, it will be a different thing.

Oddly, I've had cold baths and loved them. Cold showers scare me.

You don't need to go that hardcore with them. If luke warm is the coldest you can go, you still get benefit from that.

I did a cold shower this morning... I started lukewarm and kept turning it colder. Quite refreshing!

Cold showers are nice at this time of year, but it's not going to happen in the winter. I have to have a warm shower in the winter or I feel as if I'm freezing to death.

My mother is into "contrast showers" - warm and then cold. She keeps trying to get me to do the same. I'm resisting. Brrrr.

I am on day 3 of this, this morning was tough but I really needed a kick up the bum and a bit of confidence back and this is doing the trick!
