    How about this : "http://www.huffingtonpost.com/andrew-weil-md/healthy-eating_b_629422.html" !

So many questions! Why does he keep grains? Why are asian mushrooms their own category?

I am so glad to see him indict simple carbs, though. Progress!

Weil can suck it. Anyone who tells people to eat grains, canola oil and drink soy milk is a douche. Straight up.

LOL! At least he's bashing simple carbs. That's at least one step in the right direction. Too bad about the rest of it. He is very influential.

Weil bashing simple carbs is like Hitler bashing ocean pollution. It's good of him to do it but hardly exonerates him.

Oh okay maybe the Hitler comparison is a little harsh and unfair. I just don't like him very much.

I was reading on Jimmy Moore's blog a while back how Dr. Weil was so influenced by GCBC he decided to start cutting a lot of carbs from his diet and wound up losing a lot of weight. I'm pretty sure his "anti-inflammatory pyramid" is from before he read the book. Even so, Dr. Weil has build a career around pushing people away from animal products and towards soy products, so it's somewhat understandable if he's a bit hesitant to tell the world how he's getting the great results he has been recently.

in 20 years it will all shake out. many of the gurus will die of cancer or heart disease or just plain go crazy and the lemmings will quickly sing another tune. just like the vegan gurus are now issuing strong warnings about b12 and that it may be ok to veer from the path every once in a while. i never understood how people could follow weil; one would think his gut would be ample advertising for his detractors. i guess people like to worship fat white guys with beards because that is/was the archetype for 'wise old doctor'. time for a paradigm change.

i also knew a paleo guru who died of cancer in his early 70's. but he was ripped!!!!

the moral of the story is think and feel for yourself. i imagine this would have been the most important paleo survival trait of all. but like anyone on this forum i am just pulling that out of my ass because no one was around 2 million years ago with a camera.
