Cab, Burbon and light beer
For those of us that indulge from time to time, what do you drink?
I like red wine, but only when eating or relaxing, if i'm at a bar with friends I have a gin and tonic 90% of the time.
I just became aware of the brand "Q Tonic" through work, they claim:
"Unlike other tonic waters, Q Tonic is made with:
·Hand-picked quinine from the Peruvian Andes -- I'm Peruvian... supporting my own!
·Organic agave as the sweetener -- don't care
·60% fewer calories than regular tonic water -- don't care
·All natural ingredients -- sure
·No high fructose corn syrup -- that's nice
·85% lower glycemic rating than other tonic waters -- interesting that they'd add this...
I don't plan on drinking much at all this month (trying whole30) but I was wondering what the thought process is for primal drinkers, go with the least amount of damage/sugars/carbs/etc or enjoy what you always had? I'm not much for carbonation, so beer is a bbq summer day thing for me. I love tonic water though, it's the only mixer I mess with and usually it's just a splash. All I need is a bit of gin, lime and a touch of tonic.
You?
Cab, Burbon and light beer
I luv vodka tonics but I've abstained due to HFCS. Guess I could buy some specialty tonic....
Since going primal what I have drank:
-uber super duper light beers, anything heavier (say yum yum Fat Tire or Shock Top and I end up with a headache, pronto)
-dirty vodka martini
-homemade margarita- made with lime/lemon juice, NO marg mix, no added sugar
-red wine
I've always been a robust imbiber (hey, I'm German!) but I'm finding that more than 1 drink makes me have a headache and/or nausea for the next 24 hours. As a result, I'm almost a teetotaler now.

Mojito's
Mash cut up lime and mint leaves in the bottom of a glass with just a bit of sweetener (whatever you like). Then add rum and seltzer and a little ice. Stir gently. Yum! I use seltzer with mandarin orange essence, nothing artificial and it helps with the citrus flavor.
#1 is red wine, I'll do white or prosecco though when it seems right. After that, gin tonic is my cocktail, also nice cognac but not so much in summer. LOVE beer but it's something I really need to just about quit for PB reasons.
I'll take a single malt Scotch on the rocks.
On the rocks? Travesty!
(Kidding, I love Glenlivet 18 on the rocks.)

'Tis wholly un-primal, I expect, but I adore ale in the summer, the darker the better.
Started PB late 2008, lost 50 lbs by late 2009. Have been plateaued, but that thing may just be biting the dust: more on that later.
Now keep in mind I haven't had this since I started PB, and its TOTALLY illegal, but my all time fave is
Sour Apple pucker.
