Sugar Is Not Bad For You! Anti-Sugar is the new Anti-Fat

    Primal Fuel
It's that time again - God is here to enlighten you all!

So, in the 90s we had this whole fat is evil thing going on. Then we learned that fat is good for you so now we've moved onto hating sugar.

THIS HATE IS UNFOUNDED. SUGAR IS FINE.

    Let me elaborate.

Here are some of the common complaints about sugar and my responses:

    - It rots your teeth!
    So brush them then, Jesus.

    - It spikes your blood sugar!
Who cares? The sugar is either going to be used as energy, stored as glycogen, or stored as fat. If it's stored as fat it means you've eaten too fucking much of it - any carb source will do that to you.
I also think the glycemic index is a load of shit too. The same amount of insulin gets released regardless of the GI of a food. It doesn't matter. You realize potatoes have a higher GI than table sugar? And no one gives them the same level of hate they give sugar. (Well some people do, but they're retarded)

    - But what about sugar crashes?!
I'm pretty sure that's a myth, I've never had a "sugar rush" or "sugar crash" in my life. It's sugar, not cocaine for Christ's sake. If you're referring to the tired feeling you get 4-5 hours after eating that's called hunger. You solve that by eating more food.

    - It's addictive!
Really? Get fucked. Yeah, sweet food taste nice to most people and that makes them want to overeat on it. Yanno what though? ANY good tasting food makes you want to overeat on it. I personally find bacon more "addictive" than sugar. Hell too much sweet shit gives me a sickly feeling that actually makes it hard to overeat on it. I guess not everyone has that though and can just power through the lollies. My point is though, is that tasty food in general makes you overeat. It's not some unique property of sugar.

I will say though, sugar does have one bad thing going for it, and that is it's easy to pack a shit load of sugar into a drink (like coca cola or red bull). So that gives you lots of empty calories without really filling you up at all. So it's not really sugar that's bad for you, it's sugary-drinks.

    Anyway, that's my rant over.

I binge on chocolate from time to time and I definitely get a "rush" from eating a 100g chocolate bar, and sometimes a mild headache.

Hmmm.. maybe 12 months ago this would have been more controversial but with the points presented by the Peaters, the PHD'ers and the RS'ers attitudes are becoming more rounded.

Love sugar, hate sugar who cares?!? Live and let live!
I don't believe there is one correct way of eating for everybody, and I don't believe there is one correct way of eating for a person through every stage of their life

Care to explain why drinking coffee does not produce those effects for me?

You have to realise the anti-sugar campaign (the same as the anti-salt campaign) is for people that don't eat real food, instead choosing processed food laden with both

There are actually some logical arguments to be made for certain types of carbs.

You, however, make none of them. Your rant sucks.

You're like the Durianrider of sugar. Everytime someone thinks about going vegan they watch one of his goofy videos and decide its a really bad idea. If I ever get a sugar craving I'll just read your rant and surely go full blown keto for several more months.

    Primal Blueprint Expert Certification
    Refined sugars - BAD
Naturally occurring sugars in whole foods - GOOD

    And proportion of intake matters.
