I think it's so accessible -- that's what makes it work. The PB is simple. Honestly, it's simple and it works. Is it perfect? No. Is it absolute for every snowflake? No. But it is a great start? *YES*

    Is the forum awesome? sure.

I haven't been on here much at all, either. I lurk now and then.

For a while there, it seemed like every time I looked around I was reading about eating high sugar, high carb, or a fight about how stupid Bulletproof Coffee is.

The weird thing for me is that I basically went off the grid for a good year plus, and when I started looking around here and other Paleo/Primal sites, I didn't recognize a lot of things. Beans, potatoes, rice, upping the carbs, cooling it on the fat, etc. A lot of it seems to make sense, it just struck me as weird because I basically made my body changes by doing everything you're not supposed to do now - low carb, lots of meat and fat, no potatoes, etc. It's interesting how things have changed.

Most of the regulars I knew from 2-3 years ago don't seem to be around anymore. Too bad.

Bane, the man the legend! I still remember your awesome transformation when you went on your journey to ripped :-)

How're you doing? Have you changed the way you eat, move etc.? Or still following the same path you were back in the day?

There are still a few of us that still stick to the "old ways", though not out of any dogma but just because it's what works (for me at least).
If you're interested in my (very) occasional updates on how I'm working out and what I'm eating click here.

    Hey man!

Still plugging along. I eat more carbs these days, but still shun the bread, pasta, and sugar. I don't fear potatoes like I used to, but I don't eat a lot either.

I'm so used to the 2 meal a day thing I don't think I could ever change. I eat lunch and supper and try to get a stomach full of meat for at least one of them.

One new thing I'm doing is the Resistant Starch deal. I've been taking some unmodified potato starch daily and I like what it's doing for me. I have some crazy ass dreams lately! Here I thought the lucid dream claims by Nikoley were a bunch of bullshit. It's actually surprising.

We are all part of his n=interwebz experiment lol. Works though, we're a broad demographic with a tendency to fight it out hehe.

can you tell me about this dream thing please?
"Ah, those endless forests, and their horror-haunted gloom! For what eternities have I wandered through them, a timid, hunted creature, starting at the least sound, frightened of my own shadow, keyed-up, ever alert and vigilant, ready on the instant to dash away in mad flight for my life. For I was the prey of all manner of fierce life that dwelt in the forest, and it was in ecstasies of fear that I fled before the hunting monsters."

First bit sounds just like me, seems to work without tweaks

I have been intrigued by the RS thing, might experiment (have in fact been eating more cooked and cooled potatoes and rice recently in fact)

I can agree with that. I can't believe the number of people here who advocate rice and potatoes so much. Sure, if you're fit and it works, yeah. But most people on here are starting from a fat body and want to lose weight and learn about proper diet. So many people here are like "up the carbs, lower the fat" and i'm just like ".... who are these people?"

The thing is, some of these people are NOT fit and it works (higher carb and lower fat). Proper diet does not have to be low carb. Sometimes low carb just doesn't work, and we don't have the answers for everyone. I think it's important to encourage people to figure out what works for themselves, and that means seeing lots of different options.

I'm not fat or fit, yet I eat higher carb and am not gaining fat.
