    food intolerance

I have sensitivities and food intolerance to many things. I've been primal now for over 6 months.

My doctor wants me to try re-introducing some foods and write down the effects so she can send me to a specialist. Of course I'm not going to be eating grains ever again (or sugar), but there are some things I'd like to eat once in awhile in the future, like fruit and nuts.

So last night I tried blueberries for the first time in a few months (I've had no sweet fruit for about 2 months-maybe more). I had 1/2 cup of blueberries in about a cup of coconut cream. They tasted great! I should mention that I regularly consume coconut cream with no ill effects-like lots of it, sometimes on its own, and sometimes with vanilla powder. So it wasn't the coconut cream.

This is what happened within 45 minutes:

    -dizziness
    -sweating
    -gas
    -increased heart rate
    -bloatedness
    -light-headedness
    -irritability

It reminded me of a gluten reaction. I guess I'm not ready for blueberries. But does anyone know what KIND of reaction it might be?

Could it have been just that you weren't used to that much sweet?

    Hey Beauty,

It took about a year, but my food sensitivities and allergies did go away after having optimal d levels for that amount of time.

I was also doing a lot of digestive enzymes and probiotics.

Yeah, I realize it could take longer than it has been. I also take lots of D, probiotics, and enzymes. I will try again with wild blueberries in a few weeks, as blueberry picking season begins mid July here in Finland. Here's hoping!
