Okay, so I'm being lazy and watching telly. There was this program called the Primal connection and it was about the evolution of food. Now I know that non of our current food resembles the food out paleolithic ancestors ate but we can get pretty close. However there was a bit in that documentary about the genetic manipulations of food.
Like how carrots got orange (it was genetic manipulation even though it wasn't done within a lab) and how banana's got so strange that they are a freak of nature because they can't reproduce as they don't have seeds anymore. It was stated and I truly believe it that almost all our food is genetically manipulated to ensure a strong crop and make it immune to diseases.
However I wonder how this influences the health effect on us. I'm sure it's safe to eat a carrot or a banana at the moment but will it be for our lifetime? will the manipulation of all the food will cause issues with our health because they are lacking nutrients?
My story, My thought....
It's all about trying to stay healthy!!!!
Calories? Aren't that those little creatures that live in my closet and shrink my clothes at night?AN EARTH WARRIOR!!!!
Genetic manipulation through crossbreeding and selection for outstanding traits describes basically how our modern vegetables, fruits and grains were developed, even as breed selection gives all our modern breeds of dogs descended from wolves. Provided the selection process is not based solely on cosmetic or pounds-per-acre values, (and tastebuds!), and where organic raising methods are used, we're relatively safe for the moment. However, it is the unknowns swooping in the air, water and soil from radiation and chemical pollutants that are real gamechangers.
