    Healthful Yet Disgusting (Recipes that did not work out!)

    I thought that this would be refreshing, yet it turned out disgusting, despite beautiful color and texture and a mother-load of nutrients of every sort:

    Green Horror Smoothie

    1/2 avocado (ripe)
    about 3 inches of cucumber
    1 large kale leaf
    juice of 1/3 lime
    a couple of sprigs of cilantro
    sea salt
    water

    dumped into magic bullet, mixed.

    Do NOT do it at home. I can't quite put my finger on what's exactly was so revolting abut it, but eww.

    Too much salt, maybe?
    Or maybe the cilantro doesn't agree with the kale?

    I tried adding strained yogurt to banana egg pancakes once. Terrible mistake. So runny.

    Mustard in anything with rhubarb = NO.
    Steak, eggs, potatoes - fruits, nuts, berries and forage. Coconut milk and potent herbs and spices. Tea instead of coffee now and teeny amounts of kelp daily. Let's see how this does! Not really had dairy much, and gut seems better for it.

    Oh man, liver pate. Holy freaking crap. I can stomach liver OK, but I made some pate using a recipe I found here, and sweet mother of crumbcake it was awful. And I'll eat ANYTHING. Shudder.

    Just cucumber + avocado by itself = amazing.

    HCLF: lean red meat, eggs, low-fat dairy, bone broth/gelatin, fruits, seafood, liver, small amount of starch (oatmeal, white rice, potatoes, carrots), small amount of saturated fat (butter/ghee/coconut/dark chocolate/cheese).

    and lime juice. Those three should not be used together. A wrong sort of bitter-sour result.

    I tried to make something with pork chop & bell peppers once. It was something like mostly cooking the pork chop in a pan, cooking the pepper strips around them, then simmering the whole thing in chicken stock? I forget, but it came out awful. I ate it anyway and my husband ordered out haha.

    Hmm, speaking of pepper strips, I wonder if anyone else had an unforgettable experience of putting in a tablespoon of cayenne into a dish for two instead of a teaspoon? It was some sort of braised pepper strips with beef. I still remember the event many years later.

    There's a video of me eating spoonfuls of Sichuanese chili oil as part of a dare somewhere.
