I agree with pretty much all. It is mainly common sense. Having been on every diet out there, the better diets for me have been the Zone and now Paleo. The Zone I stopped when I suddenly started to feel really bad and tired on it. I have realized now that my problems were due to hypothyroid, and eating grains and sugar again after giving them up. Food allergies are an issue too.
The gut stretch is something I have found to be true for me. Whenever I eat at lot in one sitting I am more hungry the next day. That always has been the case and consequently I followed the French diet that gets you to try to only eat half. I have many times in restaurants cut my portion in half and asked for a doggy bag for the rest, makes a great meal the next or later in the day. Now I cook the same amount for me as hubby, but the second half gives me lunch the next day Cravings were always my downfall, caused by sugar and grains. I think also allergies, they say you often crave the foods you have a problem with......weird, whether it is true or not I have no idea.
With it all I have now had to cut out dairy, egg, gluten and can only eat some varieties of nuts in small quantity on occasion. I am actually actively trying to eat more now, down to 99lbs this morning and yet am eating to capacity meats, fruits, veg and lots of fat. Apart from being difficult to eat out, Primal is really easy for me to lose weight on, stopping is becoming a bit of an issue.
Started Primal June 2012 at 148.5lbs, and 5' 1", reached goal weight in 5 months.
Lowest weight 93lbs - too thin. Now stable at around 100lbs much better weight for me at my age.
Primal, minus eggs, dairy and a myriad of other allergens.
