One of the suspects was killed in a firefight last night, as well as one MIT police officer. Both my work and Hulky's are closed today, as are many businesses in our area. The state is enforcing a lockdown in neighboring towns (if I walk 5 min, I'd be in Cambridge, and that is one of the locked down areas) as they hunt for the second suspect. They've been identified as Chechen brothers.

Manhunt = terrifying. My newsfeed on FB is full of friends hearing gunshots and watching SWAT in the streets. I really don't want to work today, but I have my laptop and can't afford to use the PTO.

I thought of you as I watched the news early this am. So glad that you and Hulky are home. My BIL and family in Newton are also home for the day. So scary.

I hope they are all okay. Hulky works in Newton and his office was closed, even though it's not on lockdown. My town called my cell (I signed up for the emergency call network) and an automated message told me that the town is open, but I doubt anyone is going anywhere today. Knowing that I am stuck at home kind of makes me feel like I WANT to leave, I instantly feel cooped up. Maybe Hulky and I will catch a matinee later at the local theater.

I just googled the distance between your town and Watertown. 5 miles isn't a very far distance between you and the shooting. I hope you stay safe.

Guys, I'm bored and cooped up and it's GORGEOUS out. It's overcast, but over 70F! Wish I could go biking

You could go in the opposite direction of Boston Maybe an outing would be a good distraction?

My cycling trip would take me away from Boston, but I just don't feel comfortable going out anywhere today, especially not on my own.

According to ABC News the entire city of Boston is on lockdown... is your town on lockdown?
