Granted a lot of people ARE... But some are not. Benefit of the doubt? . ... Nah, not with this crowd!

Maybe she has actually lost 100lbs already -on her way to MDA perfection?

It could happen , even to You!
That made me giggle. Why? I've lost 100+ lbs. I'm still obese, I'm just SO MUCH LESS obese. XD You just described me perfectly!

Calm down, offended people. We're talking about a fat dietitian saying candy bars are a healthy choice. They aren't. She's fat. Ridicule is appropriate.

a cw dietician recommending dark chocolate is sort of surprising

sort of like slowly the tides are turning away from crap food. first there was the gluten-free trend, then fat is okay for you, then eat the yolk, now it's 'if you're gonna eat candy, try to get the less junky one'

This is exactly right. To use common sense (which is becoming less and less common), why would anyone in their right mind take advice from a fat (or obese, or overweight or calorically challenged, whatever is the PC term this week) nutrition expert?

It is not fat-shaming, it is common sense. It I was going to pick a personal trainer, would I look for the muscled up man or woman or would I look for someone like this?

I would look for the person that I would like to look like eventually, well, in a male trainer anyway.

Same with a nutritionist. Would I pick someone that looked like this lady or somebody that looked like Mark Sission? No brainer and I'm not the lady because she is fat (even through she is) but because she does not emulate what I want to look like at some point.

People need to GTFO all this "fat shaming" business. We take advice from people we want to be like or that obviously "walks the talk".

Sadly, I think this may be right. So this would indicate that their target market is people that look even fatter than this lady. Perhaps she truly is the "new normal".

In reality, the person who has accomplished the most toward their goal should be the one you choose. A perpetually thin, eating disordered woman or a young man who has never been injured, old or overweight may LOOK like you want to, but they may lack the skills to help you reach your goal.

Mark gained his wisdom about primal, as so many others did, after his health broke down. The woman could have lost 100 lbs--or she could be diligently following the ADA recommendations and wondering wtf is wrong with her 'genes.' Most of us on the forum have been there, trying our best on SAD and feeling horrid. If you haven't, you're lucky.

as af fat person, I think the advertisement is horrendous.

If it were a thin person selling the same it would still be horrendous.

I doubt anyone would look at the overweight picture and say that was normal. I think they are totally trying to market to fat people, because 'fat people' are a stupid species and need to be tricked and don't like to be challenged. I am more offended by the ad than any comments here.

Since I mentioned Mark, it should be obvious that I would not look for a "perpetually thin" person to emulate. I fully recognize the difference between thin and unhealthy and fit. And I would think that I have enough common sense (and have done enough research), to decide that they are what I'm looking for shortly after meeting them.

Started close to 300 lbs., tried a bunch of other diets before becoming primal, I'm eating and doing the right things. Luck has nothing to do with it.

Have I reached my goals? No and to be honest, I never will. Because my goal is to be in the absolute best condition that I can possibly be and I realize that I will never reach my full potential. But it is about the trip, not the finish to life. We all end our life the same way, dead, we just take different paths to the end.

What a thoroughly entertaining thread to read through. Mr Anthony and his "antics" does make me laugh, so thanks for that.

Just for the record, perhaps that specific Dietician was not the right person to use for the promotion, well in my humble opinion anyway.

And .... the rest of the world is not laughing at America/Americans, we still loves ya.
