That's awesome, I love it when the old school guys rip the fads to pieces.
Took around five days for me (basically totally dysfunctional during that time), but for some people it takes more like four weeks.
Paleolithic man didn't get wasted on alcohol (that's Neolithic). Or at least we have zero evidence if they did.
As Rich pointed out you can get drunk on mass amounts of fermented fruit, but you...
In my experience it is almost impossible. If you are addressing someone of high intelligence, and if you have a close relationship and they trust you, then maybe it is possible, given a lot...
Fresh wild caught salmon is the best, got some at Seattle Whole Foods once that was mind-blowing good. If you wanna go ghetto there are bags of frozen salmon at Costco.
Well, I had similar symptoms years ago, but they went away when I went paleo. Could be blood sugar related. Anxiety/stress (panic attacks) can also cause those symptoms.
Yes, which is why our supply of sugar is unlimited, hence the problem.
As John Yudkin pointed out decades ago; sugar causes just about everything. So it's hard to make a complete list, maybe causing these symptoms but who knows.
Not on drugs. The behavior has been observed studying humans in the wild many times, and noted by many posters assessing their own behavior, it's not some outrageous statement.
Exactly, eating real paleo it's very hard to get that much carbs. Our ancestors were not potato farmers! ;)
Homo sapiens do not eat sugar (fruit) in moderation, they eat it until the supply is exhausted.
Mashed sweet potatoes with coconut oil, and some herbs is really good.
You aren't living in reality then.
The evidence is overwhelming that it should be the first choice for those people who have started down the metabolic syndrome path (most people in developed...
Another data point to consider -- life span decreases at the beginning of the neolithic, relative to the upper paleolithic.
Excellent info Coremus, Swiss Butchery indeed seems decent. Swiss-Butchery Products
I was just in Singapore last week, checking things out, looking at housing. Will probably pull the trigger,...
I really don't understand bacon; what it is or how it's made. Personally I just buy fatty pork, no "mumbo jumbo".
That's nothing. I did 100g a day for all of 2013, some days 150g. Some of the guys on bodybuilding.com who eat paleo do crazy high amounts, I think I remember hearing someone was doing 300g?
Your numbers look fine. I wouldn't get hung up on LDL, since nobody even knows what that means. Focus on what we know -- high HDL and low TG matters. What is your blood sugar? If it's normal you are...
That seems way too high, especially given your family history.
Most estimates of a natural/optimal sugar intake for humans is 15g/day, to maybe 30g max (Cordain, Lustig, Jaminet).
Yes, humans are born addicted to sugar.
You are the one disproving how it doesn't work, not really my deal.
I'm busy playing Starcraft...
No, your first statement on how the insulin hypothesis works, didn't accurately state how it is believed to work.
LOL, good one. ;)
The internet is a weird place.
