I'm here and I'm 53. I don't come to the forum that often anymore. I usually just come if I have a question and then get back out.

I'd like to meet some others who are working in the same issues,...

Yes, that's exactly what I do. I dissolve the gelatin first in some room temp water and let it bloom, then add it to whatever hot drink I'm having.

    Great lakes gelatin question

No, I read pretty well, and long things, too. I am pretty smart. I have several graduate degrees and research things all the time, just because I am curious.

This guy's video is mostly filler. I...

Flax! Yeah, flax might work. It has a hefty lecithin content. So do eggs, which is why they work as emulsifiers so well.

I react to a lot of seeds, but I *think* flax is ok.

    I'm going to try...

    Great lakes gelatin question

Has anyone tried making mayo with gelatin? Would the gelatin work as an emulsifier? I can't have eggs, nuts, dairy, seeds, or soy, and I don't want to try legumes.

    Thanks.

So I tried it with the red, which I have. I made a quart of herbal tea. While it was steeping, I sprinkled a tablespoon of gelatin over 1/2 c water and let it bloom. Got the tea ready, then...

Gusto, I have those bendy nails, too. Always have, regardless of diet. How much gelatin do you take per day? And how long before you noticed a difference? Orange or green?

    Thanks!

Ok, I pickled that tongue and cooked it. My family loved the corned beef -- they have no clue they ate tongue! Success!

    Gelatin and collagen hydrolysate Q's

I want to improve my skin and nails. My skin is saggy from a lot of weight loss. I'm thinking dry brushing plus gelatin and/or collagen.

    Let's talk about tripe, baby

So, I've been on a quest to increase my (and my family's) consumption of organ meats.

I've successfully incorporated liver on a regular basis -- I hide beef liver in ground meat all the time, and...

    Kashmiri Rogan Josh

LOL, I'm not sure. I buy it directly from the farmer and just order "beef stew meat." ;)

Any butcher could make a good recommendation, though, I'm sure. :)
