Snopes says it's a myth.
Yep!
I know a few people with sensitivities to certain proteins in egg whites. So clearly if that's the case giving eggs up is a good idea.
That being said, I don't think you lose any protein when you cook meats. Some fat runs off and some water, but not protein.
Yogurt has pectin in it for its gelling and stabilizing effect. Pectin is also used in jellies and jams for the same reason. The amount of pectin added to yogurt does not provide a significant amount...
It's the policy of giving 10% of your income to your church. "Tithe" is the old English word for tenth.
Eek! That sucks. I don't think I've tasted a nut butter I didn't like. Not keen on tahini or sesame seed butter though.
Maybe switch to almond butter?
I know really! Why can't the naysayers make their own thread? Bleah!
I eat bacon a couple times a week. Good quality bacon. I might eat it more often if I had the time.
I volunteer a couple days a week at the city animal shelter. I coordinate a program that works with pit bulls to teach them leash manners, basic obedience and give them lots of socialization so they...
I think soon we're going to have to change this to Great-Grandma's rule. My grandmother, born in 1918, embraced every new convenience that was invented for housewives. Cake mixes, margarine, Crisco,...
I like Zevia soda for a treat. I mostly drink tea or plain water, but once in a while I really want a soda. Zevia is sweetened with stevia and erythritol, a sugar alcohol. It is calorie-free.
Hey Walrus! thanks for sharing your story with us.
It's funny, for me, I've always had cholesterol levels considered good by the doctors' standards. Even when I was 100 lbs overweight and eating a low calorie, low fat diet trying to lose weight. I...
Thanks for the reply. I don't use much sweetener in the first place, like I don't put it in coffee or in tea or whatever. I do use a bit of Xylitol occasionally to make my own chocolate bars from...
What makes you say this?
I'm new to this forum, but not to message boards in general. So obvious this is a troll.
I work 11 to 2:30, a couple times a week. I usually eat a big breakfast before I go in, then a decent snack after I pick my son up from school at 3. Dinner 6-6:30 or so.
Well, it really depends on what you use for stew meat. Traditionally, stew meat is what is left over after other cuts of meat are trimmed. It contains a lot of connective tissue and less tender meat....
Just saw this thread this morning...just finished putting my lamb stew meat in the crock pot. Around 4pm I'll put the veggies in and we'll eat around 6. I love slow cooker stew.
I doubt this will make you feel much better, but I still have to go through this sometimes and I haven't lived "at home" for 20 years. Sometimes parents just don't get it. A lot of parents don't want...
Scales for body and food, too.
I weigh every day. It works for me. I obsess if I don't weigh. I have lost almost 75 lbs over the last two years. At the moment I am trying to make sure I maintain...
Has anyone else here tried Zevia sodas? I used to drink diet Pepsi several times a week, but recently switched to Zevia. Zero calories and sweetened with stevia and erythritol.
Hey there! I'm new, too. Also in Nor Cal (Sacramento).
While we don't always buy raw, grass fed cheese and butter, we do always drink raw, grass fed whole milk and cream (for coffee and such). It is amazing!
