Great post, Bananabonobo. I think sometimes people don't realize what they're doing until it's pointed out. No one should be made to feel ashamed about oneself--even one's looks. I can't think of...

Great post, Bananabonobo. I think sometimes people don't realize what they're doing until it's pointed out. No one should be made to feel ashamed about oneself--even one's looks. I can't think of...
A while back I read on Darya Pino's Google+ feed that she was amazed at the speed in which the kettlebell toned her backside. She said she was inspired to give it a whirl by Tim Ferris's Perfect...
Oh no, that poor cat...

If you look up the omega-6 level in peanuts you'll find it's an order of magnitude greater than everything else. If you care about keeping your O6 to O3 ratio in check, avoid peanuts.
A neat trick I picked up from the freetheanimal.com blog is to pour the stock into ice cube trays and freeze them.
I'm not much of a yogi...though I have purchased a few DVDs over the years. My favorite is Bryan Kest's Power Yoga. What I like about it is it gets right to it. No wasted time sitting and breathing....
I've been both.
Like you, I grew up skinny. When my late 30s early 40s came around the fat person reflected off a passing window would startle me. Now I'm startled by a thin reflection.
+1 FTW, I lost a lot of weight without eating less. It's not how much you eat; it's what you eat.
Stay off the Prilosec. Suck on a Tums instead. As mentioned above, read the series from the Healthy Skeptic about GERD and understand its cause and how PPIs are not the answer. For strategies on how...
If you can find the Bubbies brand Suzan mentioned, that's the one to get. Bubbies also makes a pretty good fermented sauerkraut.
Going Primal hasn't changed my opinion on dentistry. I've been going twice a year for the last five years. My dentist is the only doctor I see. I've heard clean teeth is the best defense against...
If you're up for it. I think this post at PaNu dovetails nicely with this thread.
BTTT to keep this thread alive. :)
I'll have to give that a try. It looks pretty good. :)
I understand avoiding dairy and nuts. I try not to eat nuts too often. For me the brownies are a treat once a month or longer.
I've been making the five ingredient pumpkin brownies which I found somewhere on this forum and flavored them chocolate (cacao and vanilla).
In a bowl combine:
2 eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
1...
I could swear there was a thread half a year to a year ago about people having to pull back from eating eggs for a period of time because it made them sick. Could be like eating liver--it's good for...
I recently bought a Lodge 5 qt dutch oven and love it. Sear a roast, dump the veggies in, and into the oven it goes. It cooks things fast and at a low temp.
Interesting. So our guts aren't designed to digest meat?

Some raw truth:...
I take magnesium and vitamin D. Once in a while I'll take fish oil. But only if I eat something that contains lots of O6, like eggs or bacon or go out to a restaurant (I used to take a lot of fish...
I'm not sure how to describe the taste...perhaps like the smell of a burnt carrot. It's just not good. :) The African red version is suppose to be the healthiest. Plus its not responsible for rumored...
I have a jar of the African red palm oil from Tropical Traditions. I tried to talk myself into liking it. But it really isn't all that good. For the same reason as you, I need to give up butter. But...
I wanted to try kava ever since I saw some of the Survivor contestants try it when they were filming in the S. Pacific. It made one of the players very sick though.
Try it sprinkled on an omelet. An omelet just isn't done until it's sprinkled with turmeric. :p
You need seasonings. My basics are sea salt, chili powder, tumeric, cumin, all season salt and cayenne pepper.
You need butter. The best but pricy grass fed version is Kerrygold. It's not only top...
