I'm at 138 pounds, but got put on prednisone for another sinus issue. :-(
Still alive ... and didn't binge too much after coming off my 30 DONN, amazingly. Still hovering in the low 140s, probably due to stress. A new source arrived on our doorstep a couple of weeks ago,...
Thank you for your wise words, friend. I definitely haven't taken time to enjoy my successes lately—most notably in karate; in our dojo a promotion automatically brings new responsibilities and...
I second the idea of following Mark's workout blueprint, starting wherever you can comfortably challenge yourself.
Thanks, you two. It does feel good; but I feel like I have to confess that immediately upon doing that first one, I set a new goal of doing five.
And that segues pretty nicely into how things have...
Thanks, both to you and Geostump. IniQuity, your vids, ideas, and encouragement helped me tremendously; thanks very much for all of it.
Got my first unassisted pullup 8/03. I'd been doing pushup work mostly—sllloooooooow and really deep pushups (nose touching the floor pushups), and think that helped get my nose over the bar.
Got my pullup on August 3. :D
Four days left to my 30DONN and I'm doing really well. I'm also within spitting distance of the 130s in weight, which has me happy beyond imagining. Oh, and I'm very close to a full pullup!
First meal: two fried eggs over sautéed spinach, blackberry smoothie.
Very busy week; with some increased stress (and a new source of stress) to boot. Still, I'm doing well on the 30DONN: no cheating with grains, off-plan dairy, or nuts so far. Slipped a little on the...
Those are some huge revelations right there. Isn't it funny how we—and I do mean "we", because I'm in this position too—recognize how the SAD/SNZD can encourage overeating, yet we fall into it again...
Had an ass-kicking day in the dojo ... meaning I got my ass kicked, mostly. But it's all good, because I'm learning. In the changing room after class, I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror, and...
Halfway through my 30DONN! So far I'm quite pleased with how it's going.
First meal: omelette with spinach, garlic, and portobella mushrooms; blueberry smoothie.
Second meal: hamburger with...
Well, however it's happening, I'm glad it's happening for you! Maybe just the relaxation dropped your cortisol levels some ... I dunno. But I'm happy for you.
First meal: leftover piece of broiled salmon; blackberry smoothie. Currently battling the urge to grab a piece of chocolate ... I'd been snacking on that the last couple of days, and noticed it...
Today is day 13 of my 30DONN, so I'm almost halfway there. I'm feeling pretty good and not having a lot of food cravings, so I'm happy about that. In looking at my list of things to do during this...
An excellent post by Denise Minger addresses this issue. For those who don't want to read it all, the major points IMO are: 1] berries aren't lower in sugar (especially fructose) compared to many...
First meal today: three-egg omelette with spinach, garlic, and basil, four squares of chocolate with chili, blueberry smoothie.
Second meal: BAS with avocado and tuna. I also had a toasted...
It sure sounds like it's beyond being a picky (or in your words, "annoying") family member: when you eat certain foods you have health problems. Traveling is already stressful enough to you; why...
I IF every day; I can eat starting at noon (usually) and stop at 8 p.m. usually. I say "I can start" because that's the earliest I'll eat, but if I'm not hungry when the clock strikes noon, I wait...
I started feeling a little dizzy again today, so I ate a couple of sausages and that helped.
First meal: BAS with avocado and leftover salmon; small bowl of honey vanilla yogurt.
Second meal:...
Yes, it's all fascinating. I just read Going Against the Grain, where I found this:
Another article (linked to from the one I linked above) expands the issue further, and is also well worth...
For me, stress is a major component of my breathing issues. When I have little stress in my life, I'm much more resilient to triggers; when stress is high, sometimes just thinking about a trigger...
Hmmm. That suggests what I had feared: my karate training may be contributing to the problem. :( In addition to being barefoot there, I've been going barefoot a lot more at home to strengthen my...
