Why not do both?
Add in 1000 mg Krill Oil for inflammation.
Make sure your D3 is in the 60-80 ng/ml range (another anti-inflammatory)

I am super glucose-intolerant, so a keto diet is my way of life. :D
I make sure to eat mostly fat, keep my protein around 60 gm/day and limit carbs to about 30 gm/day.
I eat eggs, lovely...
Yeah, and I ate more food when I was more active, but obviously still had a caloric deficit. The key for me is lots of SLOW moving.
Lots of gentle activity works for me. I recently dropped about 3 lbs of belly fat (down to 122 at 5'6") by weeding and spreading bark in my garden for 3-4 hours a day for 2 weeks. Lots of...
Very excited to see more educated docs out there.
A great resource. Am 1/2 way through reading it and will review it on my blog soon!
Here's the Amazon Kindle link:(also available in hardback,...
Get your D3 level checked. I have completely eliminated my asthma, including exercise-induced by getting my D3 level up to 80 ng/ml, via supplementation.
Great! And I agree with the others-- definitely don't skimp on the calories, even if they need to come from carbs!
And of course make sure you are staying well-hydrated and salting your food to taste.

How much fat are you eating?
On special at our local farm, $2 per dozen for duck eggs, $2.50 for chicken eggs. Normally $3 a dozen.
D3 really rocks for inflammatory conditions. Oh, and bone broth is essential. I drink some almost daily.
See my reply to you on the women over 50 thread!
Kate, how is your D3 blood level? I keep mine at 80 ng/ml for my asthma (all gone!) and now my knee pain is gone, too. I also take 500 mg krill oil and Magnesium.
Eating ice cream after a long day weeding and mulching in the garden. (Likely still in ketosis, though. My overall carbs today were under 50 gm.
Ah, I was wondering where you were!
I always lose weight when I travel. :)
Yes to keto diet and if she can get her D3 level tested, she would help support her immune system by sunning/supplementing to a blood level of 80-100 ng/ml. (This higher blood level is only...
Up in WA state, getting our old house ready to sell now that the tenants have moved out. LOTS to do!
We are "camping" in the house, so camp pad, low camping chairs are making sure I get to squat...
