Absolutely - I make them a lot for my children (although we call them hasselback potatoes) with just butter and garlic. They work perfectly every time!
It certainly affects my daughter badly if she uses any products containing wheat on her skin (she comes up in hives) - and my other daughter can't use anything containing corn or wheat either to eat...
Was searching through the freezer today trying to pull lunch for 3 out of thin air, and this was a winner:
1/2 a packet of frozen spinach, defrosted and thoroughly drained
300g smoked haddock,...

I know from experience (butchering deer myself) that there's pretty much no fat on them. I'd go for whatever you can get - haunch, shoulder, fillet, etc and cook with lots of extra fat. I pretty...
Definitely sounds like an allergy as well as an intolerance to me. It might be worth seeing if you can get a skin pin-prick test done - my daughter had one done a couple of months ago and tested...
I find that a small daily quantity of a bio yoghurt (2 - 3 tbpsns) can help a lot for me - it doesn't seem to speed up that horrible feeling, but it does "mellow" it a bit, which might make it more...
Cold meatballs are nice, and easy to eat as well. There was a recipe on the MDA site about 18 months ago for chicken breasts stuffed with savoury pork mince, wrapped in bacon and baked which works...
Thank you all again! Rita - your description of your second injury sounds scarily familiar, as well as your reactions to it - I think that something similar may be happening for me (certainly I have...
First of all, thank you everyone for your kind thoughts!
Paleobird - your advice is, as ever, pertinent. I had, prior to this injury, been trying to keep around the 20 - 30g of carbs per day, as...
I can't offer much help other than to suggest a visit to a different vet. It sounds as though he may need some medication for this. I do very much hope that he recovers quickly!
Seems to me to be mainly sugary foods, or foods that will raise insulin, that I'm craving which, given that I never had a particularly sweet tooth even before Primal, makes me suspicious. I've also...
Yup - I made the sheets slightly too thin, so will make them thicker next time - but repeats of this have been requested!!
Made a version of this on Saturday - it was delicious! Thank you so much, Paul, for giving the idea :D
I've been eating more in the way of white potatoes - maybe twice a week, and also more fruit, neither of which hits the spot! Weight has remained stable so far, thank goodness!
I've been doing very well on Primal for the last couple of years - lost 65lbs, several dress sizes, also lost my hayfever, eczema and early arthritis problems, and generally felt fantastically well...
I make my own yoghurt, and definitely freeze some of each batch as the next starter. I've been doing this now for about 5 years, and have never had an issue with the frozen starter not working. ...
I use double/heavy cream, with a couple of egg yolks to thicken - works well if you eat dairy, and cheese will help to thicken a sauce, too.
For me, it always signals a magnesium deficiency ...
I steam, roast, fry or grill/broil just about anything! Sometimes, particularly for veggies like cabbage, broccoli or cauliflower, I'll start them off on a highish heat in a frying pan with some...
I always drink my tea black (coffee as well), but you can buy unhomogenised milk in most UK supermarkets, and I'd just use that, if I were you. As long as you're not having problems with dairy, the...
Two soft boiled eggs and a bit of butter for a late breakfast.
Chocolate mousse - melt dark chocolate in a bain marie, add in 3 egg yolks, and fold in 3 whipped egg whites. Chill before serving. If you really want, you can add a splash of brandy to the mix,...
Nothing yet - but will soon be putting on some scrambled eggs and bacon for brunch ... (when all my children have emerged, that is)
