I was sore too. That's One MAJOR reason that I don't like to go on 'sabbatical'. Once you lift weights regularly, you don't get that horrific 'painful' soreness. Just a buzzing feeling in your muscles. I like that!

I'd love for it to be humid here! I had to deal with a balmy -7C and flurries here this morning :P

I think I need to live somewhere else.

Did do anything yesterday, needed to rest, but the planned walk for lunchtime was interrupted by my workload. I crawled into bed by 11pm, but that was in part, due to packing my gym bag. I went back again today! Yay!

HIIT - more mild, only 2x sprints.

Weights:

Pushups (knees on bench, hands on floor)
Dumbbell Shoulder Presses
Standing Cable Flys
Reverse Grip Cable Pulldown
Tri-Dips

A tad sore, but I'll be back in shape in no time at all!

DCKMB I would love to see you continue these threads. I too haven't been too good about working out regularly until I had this post to answer to.
AND, it's great to see what everyone is doing and using their notes to mix it up for myself.

Lovestoclimb, thanks for posting the bodyweight 250 link, I have saved it to my favorites as another option for a WOD to mix in with the few others that I have come up with.

I think this would be a great weekly thread!

Ok, so here's how my week has gone so far:

Monday: 90 min Yoga
Tuesday: tabata style burpees
Wednesday: hubby tailored a primal workout just for me. We were setting up the workout bench and so he stood at the top of the stairs and I would sprint up the stairs, he'd hand me a weight and I'd carry it down. Lather rinse repeat! It was fun, and a great workout.
Thursday: Weight training

The plan for the rest of the week:
Friday: Play in the pool with the littles
Saturday: Hike up Sulpher Mountain, walk around Banff...
Sunday: tabata style burpees

maba, I think Kenpo is the easiest P90X work-out but that's just my opinion. Did you get the guide that tells you what sequence you're supposed to do them in? It's pretty hard so don't beat yourself up if you can't make it all the way through each work-out. Try for 20-30 minutes to begin with and see how it goes (especially with plyo, legs, and chest- lots of push-ups).

I'm outta here for the weekend but I'll start a new thread on Monday if everyone is interested.

Peace out.

@maba - for p90x, I'd start with Cardio X to give it a look see. It's a combination of a few of the programs and it's only 45 minutes long...not that you'd want to go any longer than that.

If I recall correctly, it includes Yoga, Kenpo, Core Synergistics, and Plyometrics.

Day 5:
"Move slowly" - 40 minute walk. It was going to be a 1 hour walk but the rain cut it short.

DCKMB, this is a great thread and I think you should continue it. I didn't do much this week but it was definitely better than the last month or two. Seeing everyone's workouts will inspire me to get out of my comfort zone and try something new. You know I got the P90X DVDs last month and I still haven't used them. Which of those do you recommend for a beginner like me?

1:15 of walking in the morning and did day 1 of P90X Core synergistics tonight. Funny how I did an Ironman triathlon 6-7 weeks ago and felt fitter than I ever have been and today how unfit I felt doing some of the moves...and I'm already sore. I wonder how my hamstrings and quads will be in 24 hours:)

Primalchild, I agree now that you mention it..Do you guys do the full 60 minutes? I've stole some of the moves and made my own (condensed) HIIT workout with them...

WOD was pushup mania...
5 explosive pushups
5 tricep pushups
5 wide pushups
5 mobile pushups
5 diamond pushups (on knees)
Repeated 3x: 8:35 (I'm workin on it alright!)
Walked the dog for 20 minutes...I love Florida weather :)

As I am still fairly new to the body weight exercises, I tried out a new one to throw into my mix. Spiderman crawls.

100 jumpropes
20 spiderman crawls (10 each side)
20 walking lunges
3 sets

2 kippings each grip 2 sets

3 assisted pullups, each grip 1 set

Yay Maba! A toast to your resolve! I too have been slacking and today was my first day back in over a month.

WOD:

HIIT (mostly a brisk walk, at varying inclines and then 2 - 3 sprints for no more than a minute each).

Lat Pulls
Walking Lunges
Seated Cable Rows
Sit ups/ crunches on ball

Kept it mild, in contrast to my previous fitness level :-(

Oh well, back in the saddle again! ;-)

I forgot to post yesterday and my sore muscles today reminded me to get my WOD written down.
Yesterday:
100 jumprope
20 air squats
7 pushups
100 jumprope
7 pushups
20 air squats
100 jumpropes
20 air squats (last 4 were HARD)
7 pushups
3 assisted pullups of each grip-overhand & underhand
Tried some kippling pullups for each grip as well

Noticed some new strength in my arms in that I can hold a bent arm for a second or 2 before continuing down-that's huge for me!

WOD today, walking....

Today I'm doing some kind of crossfit work-out but I haven't decided which one yet. And also a walk.

Day 1: Yoga
Day 2: Tabata style burpees. (This kicked my ass so hard. OMG! Ridiculous.)
Not sure what I'm doing today... it was suppose to be weight training last night, but we didn't finish getting the weights set up safely so that the boys can't hurt themselves, so tonight's the night hopefully!

Thank you dearies for the encouragement. I was totally slacking until now and I'm determined to get the momentum going. I forgot to add, I did some rows too. I was using many of those equipments for the first time yesterday.

Day 3:

"Move slowly" - one hour walk in the sun. The sun deigned to make an appearance today. Oh, how I wish I could move to warmer climes.
