Ice cream is my down fall. I have found Coconut Bliss, which is absolute heaven [It's as rich and creamy as premium ice cream, Luna & Larry's Coconut Bliss is a satisfying, delicious, and healthy alternative to dairy and soy-based frozen dessert. Made from a base of naturally rich coconut milk and sweetened and agave syrup, Luna & Larry's Coconut Bliss is certified organic, 100% vegan, kosher pareve, and made with certified fair trade ingredients]. http://www.coconutbliss.com/

And chocolate - Hershey's plain old milk chocolate. . . just to put it on your tonge and letting it melt is fabulous.

Chiming in with crunchy fried foods (esp. a nice crunchy batter on moist fried chicken!), gourmet breads (I mean hand made, top quality stuff), and the occasionaly bit of rice on a sushi roll (like for a dinner I get tons of sashimi pieces and like 1 spicy tuna roll). And gourmet ice cream (I only get a little at a time because I'm more sensitive to sugars now that I'm good after a few spoonfuls vs. a few bowlfuls, lol).

I will eat primally for the most part, but just can't go through my life not enjoying the rare and gourmet things. I prefer to eat really healthy most of the time and indulge guilt free on some rare occasions.

Resistance is futile.... when it comes to popcorn. At work, we have a big old-fashioned popcorn machine in our break room. Someone makes popcorn (for everybody) pretty much every day, often twice a day. It smells SO good and I find it impossible to resist. The other day I decided to have just a tiny bit, but ended up having two bowls. A few hours later I raided the candy drawer (yes, work is a minefield) and ate a small chocolate-caramel bar. I think the popcorn made me crave more carbs. I'm generally not too bad with the candy drawer, but how can I resist the delicious smell of popcorn??? I can't!

thanks-I have read it and I don't necessarily take everything here as gospel though I agree with about 80-90%...I've tried to incorporate more strength exerises and core, though and see a difference there

I have way too many, haha.
Beer and dark chocolate are the only ones I regularly indulge in though.
Other things, like chipotle burritos, pizza, and ice cream, I will get once in a great while, and usually after a long/difficult climb or something like that. Not more than once a month usually though.

I've yet to convert to primal exercise, but that's just as much because what I love (climbing/mountaineering) requires lots of cardio and stuff, so in a way, my non-primal exercise habits support my very primal habit of doing things that are fun :)

Beer Wine and salt? When I have one of my home brew beers I have no cravings, but when I have one of my homemade wines I crave salt something terrible. I just limit it to indulging once a month or so.

I would miss running too much, so I refuse to give this up. I mean, running long distances. Nothing is more fun that running in the woods for a few hours, and I don't see how this isnt 'primal'...it improves my peace of mind and quality of life so I will keep on running.
Of course, this gives me leeway to have more wine and chocolate so its a win/win!

We're like minded individuals Shazkar. I'd rather drink less then drink that god awful low carb stuff, that is beer in name only.

I limit my self to two beers twice a month and it's some thing yummy like Dogfish head 90 minute IPA.

I'm with SerialSinner... as I said in the earlier beer thread, crappy light beer isn't a substitute for real beer (like the Lagunitas Imperial Red I had last night), and I'd rather limit my quantity than go down in quality.

I'm far from primal right now, I'm just... headed in that direction, but giving up most grains in the food I cook and eat at home wasn't so hard (though, like I said, I'm not primal and I will eat grains if I go out to eat with friends... I just try to limit eating out to a few times a week tops), I haven't yet given up dairy though I could see that as definitely doable for me, or at least limiting it to rare occasions...

But beer... never. Ever ever in a million billion years.

They are actually a pretty reasonable treat:

35 calories each, 2.6 grams of fat (all saturated), and only 3 carbs.

They are hand-made of cream and semi-sweet chocolate; no butter, sugar or emulsifier added. And since they are sooooo rich, one really hits the spot

Beer.

A couple of days ago, and after some suggestions from you guys, I tried Michelob ultra.

I purposefully lowered my expectations as low as possible, so when I tried it I did find it bearable. Felt like a PETA vegan in the middle of a Paleo nutrition convention though.

Anyway, there are some mild traces of hop on it and the alcohol level seems ok for such a low carb beer. So I guess it might be doable.

The above being said, I'm not ready to let beer go anytime soon.

I have two cheats on occasion, but definitely don't EVER keep them around my apartment - rice and hard pack ice cream. The ice cream is more an appeal to my foodie nature. If I'm near a place that serves good, hand crafted ice cream, I've got to have a small cup. Rice is a rare cheat - usually from a piece of sushi.

Probably ice cream. I've never tried the coconut milk + berries primal version of ice cream, but I'm willing to bet it would set off a chain reaction of eating everything in sight just like the real deal. Boo :(

I always said I would never give up coffee- but I gave it up to sleep better.

Now I say I will never give up my wine.

The only thing I miss is Roast Potatoes, haven't had them in a year so doing great! My thing I can't give up since being primal is 85% chocolate, even though it's primal it's supposed to be an induldenge but I eat it everyday!
