I *am* in a fresher mood. Still have a ton of crap on my mind, but this weather is doing good things for my mood.

So I'm at the laundromat, doing my last load of rat laundry. I'm starting to get sad. *sigh* While the clothes were in the washer I ran (literally) down to the tanning salon and got a little fake bake. A bit of a mood booster. Ran back. Running in Vibrams feels so good! I really need to buy more of these, in every style and color. Seriously.

Ok... back to the rest of the forum...

Your day sounds awesome and you sound like you're in such a good, FRESH mood. I mean fresh like sunshiney, not fresh like "don't get fresh with me, young lady."

I'm glad you found a great home for your other ratties too... it must be sad to let them go but easier knowing they are going somewhere nice.

OMG, it's so sunny and beautiful outside! 60 degrees!

I've got all my curtains WIDE open. I really want to take the plastic off the windows but I don't dare just yet. The kitchen door is open, letting fresh air in though.

I absolutely LOVE this apartment right now. My kitchen is so sunny and wonderful. I love cooking in it with the sun shinging in on the yellow floor and countertop. This is exactly the kind of house I want someday. Ahh...

Shred this morning was great. Not easy. I didn't do a lot of it "right" yet, but wow, my muscles are SORE. Mostly my abs, back and shoulders. Feels good to be in pain again.

Breakfast was my super-yummy dark chocolate cherry shake. I really love those. Don't know what I'm gonna do when I run out of cherries.

Lunch was 4 fried eggs. Pretty basic but it got the job done.

I've got dinner started. Hopefully this new recipe will turn out. I'm making dilly daikon crisps with cheddar, and balsamic beef heart.

After dinner I've gotta run down to the laundromat and get the ratties' blankets washed. They're going to their new home tomorrow. Tomorrow I've gotta take the cage over to the car wash and give it a good spray down. I called my vet's office and one of the girls there is going to take them. I'm so relieved to know they're going to a good home. It'll be weird not having pets in the house, but right now I just can't do it. I don't have the time or money to put into a pet, even a cat yet.

Hmm... not much else to report yet. I've gotta get my blog for tomorrow finished and work on some much needed spring cleaning. I should make a shopping list for the garden too. I really want to start that NOW. I don't even have dirt to start seedlings. Maybe that should be the first thing on the list huh?

Will probably pop back in later. May take the laptop to the laundromat so I'm not completely bored. I want to get out of there quick though so I can catch tonight's episode of LOST.

I think I'll start with sweeping the porch and moving the rest of the firewood down under the stairs. I've got enough in the house I think. So much to do!

LOL Darth, I may have to take up your tactic of eliminating competition. On one hand I'm pretty confident I don't even *Have* to compete for the guys who like girls like me. On the other, most guys don't get girls like me anyways. A conundrum for sure.

I'm half serious about the conjuring. I think a good love spell is in order. I'll admit I've never exactly done one (except the boyfriend rooster misadventure, but I wasn't wholly serious about that.) Maybe that was the problem- lol.

Oh Hannah, I bet that was scary! I had a few scary experiences when I was a kid too before I got more comfortable with Howard (our ghost.) I remember being 14 when somebody started rocking my waterbed. I was terrified. I pulled the blanket over my head and screamed for my dad. It happened several other times, or pulling on my legs while I was sleeping. Eventually I got to the point where I'd kick, tell him to leave me alone because I have school in the morning. :P

Yeah, the fake bake is helping. I can't wait to get a natural glow soon. It feels so good not to look... well, ghostly. I do pull off a nice "undead" look during winter. Hehe...

Ok, I'm really really off to bed now. If I don't, I'll be no good for Shred in the morning.

G'nite all!

Hehe maybe you're just more used to the ghostys :) I had a really frightening "visual dream" experience when I was about 7, I woke up and there was a very dirty looking/scary scary man laying across the end of my bed, with tattered clothes and missing teeth, and a knife...I was terrified. I somehow convinced myself (after what felt like an hour) to dash out of bed to my parent's room and I slept with my mom and cried.

I don't know why I equate that to ghosts, it just seems like that's what's formed the majority of my opinion all these years! I guess if I had more benign/non-frightening experiences I'd get used to it.

Oh, and one reason I'm looking forward to summer and more sun is that I always wear way less makeup in the summer. Love it. With glowy skin, all you need is a little mascara and lip gloss (or chapstick when you're a goob like me :). Since you've been tanning a bit I'll bet your skin looks great and summery already!

Sooooo, aparently "B" stood for "bastard" eh? Sorry to hear that. There probably are some genuinely cool guys out there, but I'm in the process of hunting them down and killing them to weed out the competetion.

I once DID conjure up my "perfect girl", it took a while to manifest, but when it did- Daaaaayum!

Unfortunately I hadn't updated my "mental template" of what the perfect girl looked like since I was 16, so somethings that I would have thought were super cool back then, not so much later. Ah well. And I still miss her, even though there's no way I'd ever go back.

You don't sound weird to me. You seem like a perfectly normal person. Ghosts, dreams, spells, rats. All things that rational sane people would have in their lives.

On the other hand you listen to Glenn Beck, sooooo....

...weirdo.

*hugs* TT

I think tomorrow's gonna be another Spring Cleaning spree too. I'm really looking forward to taking the plastic off the windows and getting some fresh air in the house. It still gets too cold outside though, and my windows or horridly drafty. I need to find a more permanent, plastic-free fix next year.

OMG, I can't wait til Ostara. My family's St Patty's Day dinner got pushed from Wednesday to Saturday, so in my brain I can pretend we're having an Ostara feast. My family is cool with my path, but they don't typically celebrate. THEN, on Sunday I was invited to a friend's open circle. I used to be part of the Coven, but it's Irish tradition and my Roman self didn't really fit in. I miss having a Coven though. *sigh*

Yeah, still trying to figure out what to do about B. I would love to hang out with him still, but I don't trust his word anymore. Damnit. I wish I could find the one I've been looking for. It was nice having somebody who paid attention to me, that I could share stuff with. Ugh.

Yay for Ostara though. I'm hoping it'll bring me some new fortunes. Both Ostara and my birthday fall before the Full Moon, so some magic may be in order. I sure could use it. :P

Oh, I remembered the other thing. I'm totally craving french fries, but I'm too lazy to try making them myself. Wish I knew where to get good "clean" french fries.

so sorry about the rat. ugh.

and you are so not nutty at all, but deeply connected. you know?

B...geesh. really?

i can't believe what people are capable of doing to each other. i'm still so naive at almost 40.

sounds like you're doing really well, all in all.

tomorrow starts official spring cleaning here, too. i want to get the whole house sparkling by ostara. my son made his first herbal concoction to prepare for that.

Thanks Kuno <3

Hannah- I LOVE ghostly experiences. I miss my parents house with its resident ghost. My apartment, even with as old as the house is, is spirit-less. :( Probably wouldn't be a good idea for me to "call one in" though.

I can't wait to give Shred another go in the morning, especially since I did my fast/feast and get to reward myself with a dark chocolate cherry protein shake after my workout tomorrow.

So I fasted again today. It's getting easier. I'm hoping to stick to 2x a week. My next fast should be Wednesday. Could possibly do again Friday, depending on how I feel. I'm certainly not under-eating too badly. I totally stuffed myself for dinner.

Big ol pork steak marinated in wheat-free tamari, 2 eggs sunnyside, and a cool quiche thing made with eggs, squash, dill, coriander and garlic salt. Finished off the night with a cup (bowl) of Dagoba Xocolatl made with coconut milk.

According to FidDay, about 1600 calories, 120g fat, 45 carbs, and 120g protein... rough estimate. Pretty good for one meal. I would have much rather had a piece of Scharffen Berger 99% instead of the hot chocolate, but oh well. Will have some in the house for next time.

I did something today that I never do. I went without makeup! My pores have been pretty clogged lately, so I just did a little eyeliner and mascara. My skin needs a break so I'm gonna try to go all week without makeup.

There was something else I wanted to touch on, but I can't seem to remember what is was. Bummer...

I don't think you sound nutty at all, the crows and the blackbird in your chimney all at the same time, right before Jinx passing seem like more than a coincidence.

And I do NOT like ghosty experiences...living in OH with all of the old houses there are a lot of tales of ghosty things happening. Totally freaks me out. We haven't had anything happen at our house even though it is 90 years old, so I'm grateful for that!

Oh and I noticed that I could totally be light on my feet with the plyo stuff at first, but by the end of level three with the "rock star" jumps and jump squats I sounded like an elephant jumping in the room! Just too tired to stay light :)

Thanks Lil_EM. Sometimes I wonder if I come off sounding weird or nutty- lol.

Started level 3 of Shred today. Not as hard as I thought. I'm having trouble with some of the jumping. I SUCK at jumping. I really hope my neighbors don't get pissed about it. I'll have to practice at work when nobody's looking.

I had some weird-ass dreams last night. I don't really remember all of it, but at one point I woke up because my pillow was missing, then I dreamed I fell (off a bike maybe?) and knocked a tooth out. My old biology/chemistry/driver ed teacher was the dentist, but she was in my mom's bathroom. So weird...

In the middle of a 24-hour fast. It ends at 7:00 tonight. Hopefully my workout tomorrow will be improved tomorrow like after my last fast. I'm *really* looking forward to a dark chocolate cherry shake tomorrow morning. Mmm...

Fried up some daikon and onions in tallow, and cooked up a pork steak. Lots of greasy, fatty goodness. Just finished eating so my 24-hour fast begins... NOW.

B texted me. "I miss you." *sigh* *shakes head*
In truth, I do miss him too. We were really cool together, and it's so hard to find a guy that gets my weirdness. It sucks so bad he had to go and screw up like that. I'm typically very trusting until something happens. Then the switch gets shut off and the wall goes up. Ugh.

Damn it, why can't I pull a "Practical Magic" and conjure up my perfect guy. Bah! This blows.

My boys love to laugh and tickle each other. It's so funny to see. If you get ratties, you should always have at least 2 though. They get lonely. Rats also cannot vomit, and they use their tails to cool themselves. :P

If we lived closer I would totally bring my ratties to you! Yeah, FedEx might not be a good idea- lol.

Aaaaaw sweetie, you're always welcome! Lots of love! <3

I've always liked rats, they're such intelligent, unique pets with such intriguing personalities! Did you know they are the only animals that laugh? :] I think they also tickle each other and are very social!
I wanna get a pet rat, but in the meantime I collect pictures of rats doing cute things :x

I guess Fedexing your rats to me is a bad idea, huh? :P

Thanks everyone. I miss him already. What's harder though is the thought of life without ratties. They're the cutest pets ever, but they do take more work and time than I can devote anymore. I'll have to love them from afar. I'm really gonna miss Calamity & Disaster, my last 2 boys. Especially Zaster. He's such a character. I think I found a nice rescue/home for them. I just have to find out when they can come get 'em.

A weird thing happened to me today. Actually several weird things over several days. I don't consider myself especially superstitious but I do pay attention if something appears to be a message. When I got back home yesterday morning there were several rather obnoxious crows hanging about the house. I didn't think much of it. I'm not especially connected to crows- that's more my dad's totem. But they were noisy and boisterous to a degree I had to notice them. I thought "well that's odd" and went about my business. That's thing one.

I'd also been hearing a weird noise in my wall last night. It was just a few times and I didn't pay much attention. I've heard squirrels or something in the attic already. Well, I kept hearing it this morning and started listening. It was a bird in the chimney. I shut off all the lights, opened the kitchen door, and let the bird down the chimney. It flew out without much panic. That's thing two.

Then I got to thinking... rowdy crows. Blackbird in my chimney... not to be superstitious but those are two usual "omens" of death, which obviously happened at my house about the same time. Just one of those witchy moments in life I guess. Thought I would share.

I also had a "ghost" experience at work. We keep having strange things happen and we jokingly chalk it up to a "ghost." We did have a co-worker pass away, but I'm not sure I really believe he's haunting us- lol. However... I'm standing in the fiber room bagging cables, all by myself, listening to my headphones. I heard a weird noise, so I took off the headphones and listened. My tiny hand polisher had turned itself on. I got this weird feeling and wished so badly somebody else was in the room with me. I didn't tell anyone at work because I don't think they'd believe me.

So after the bird thing this morning, I started some spring cleaning. Got the flies out of the light fixtures, re-potted some plants, cleaned out my bedroom closet. I have a lot more to do, but at least I feel like I did something today after completely slacking off on doing a workout.

Breakfast this morning was half a beef heart (12 ounces) and 3 fried eggs. Sipped coffee most of the day.

I'm gonna cook up some pork steaks and see if I can come up with another good daikon recipe. After dinner tonight I'm gonna do a 24-hour fast.

I'm quite happy to see that in spite (or maybe because of) the intese fat and meat feasting all weekend, I've not gained any weight. Yeehaw for muscle building!

Ok, I better eat soon so I don't have to wait so long tomorrow.

Meatsy, I did see that on FB, and thank you so much! I really needed that today. Really, really. Thank you. <3

Aw... sorry about the ratty, but glad he's not suffering.

And maybe with all the stuff going on you just need a day to be slothful. Listen to your body.. it's obviously telling you something about resting and taking care of yourself.

So sorry to hear of your little buddy's passing. I used to have a squirrel I was very attached to and his passing was hard to handle. <hug>

I'm in the middle of my first dinner to dinner fast today. It's going well. Thanks for being an inspiration on that front. :)

I bought a couple tubes, but I'm still open to other brands/options. I figured I'd get them while they were on sale so I have no excuse to buy regular chamical-laden toothpaste. I tried baking soda a while back and it was horribly salty and well... just gross. Natural toothpaste/powders seem to be a much better way to go.

Well I didn't get much sleep last night. Snuggled with my ratty on the couch for a while, tried unsuccessfully to get him to eat some blueberries. Gave in and had to go to bed, so I took him with me. He snuggled up with me in the blanket, up next to my armpit. Somewhere around 4:00 he passed. I'm so relieved it's finally over. I'm gonna miss the little guy. Now I have to work on getting my last 2 boys rehomed. It's gonna be so strange not having rats in the house. I've had them for about 10 years now. They're so cute and fun when they're young, but it's hard when they get old, and it happens so quickly. *sigh*

So I'm pretty sluggish this morning. Between staying up too late, not sleeping well (as to not squish Jinx,) then the time change, the nasty cold weather... I just feel like a sloth. I had intended to start level 3 of Shred today but I don't have the ambition yet.

I noticed I have eaten a massive amount of meat and fat this weekend. Between breakfast yesterday, eating when I got home last night, and breakfast this morning... 8 ounces of chicken, 3 scrambled eggs, 6 strips of bacon, half an avocado, 2 breves, 8 ounces of liver, 3 pickled eggs, 12 ounces of beef heart, 3 fried eggs, and a fist full of almonds. I have pork steaks thawing out for dinner tonight. What the heck?

Tomorrow's going to be another 24-hour fast, from after dinner tonight to dinnertime monday night. I do so much better during the week than I do on the weekend.

Made my very last cup of caffeinated coffee, so I'm hoping it'll give me an energy boost and the will to at least make my first attempt at Shred.

I know I should, I know I should, I know I should...

Sounds like a good night!

Glad you're loving the Vibrams. At some point I want to try them for sure... just not so much yet! :-)

do you use the Tom's now? I'm switching over a lot of stuff lately and toothpaste is on the list for a makeover. I've switched to coconut oil for moisturizer and I use mineral eyeshadow... when I wear it.. still use regular deodorant and toothpaste. I'm looking to change. I did try the whole crystal thing back in the day and didn't have much success. I'm thinking/hoping things have changed since then!!

I've heard of the brushing with bakng soda and I'm not opposed to that really but wanted to check out all my options first.

Ok, I'm sitting at the coolest little coffee/tattoo shop I've ever been to. Listening to some friends play, sipping my 2nd breve of the night. I feel so... Indie, crunchy granola and my shoes are a hit- lol.

Apparently my local Wegmans nolonger sells Tom's of Maine, but an hour away here in Ithaca they sell it. $2.99 each. I got 2. Peppermint, and fennel. I'm not sure about the fennel. I'll try it and suffer through if I don't like it.

So I've got just enough money left for one more coffee. Gonna jam out here and drink coffee. When I get home I might cook up that liver or eat the last of my beef heart. After this morning's fat feast I haven't really been hungry. So much for limiting dairy with the breves huh? That's ok. Shred 3 tomorrow, damn it.

I'll have to try the vinegar. I hear it works great as a window cleaner anyways. Wonder if I just wash the windows with vinegar solution if that'll do the trick. Guess the only way to know is to try.

LOL Meat. Yay for payday!

Lesliek- The injinjis are about the same thickness as other toe socks I've seen at the stores. Inside Vibrams they're much warmer than bare feet alone, which would be helpful on a rainy cool day like today. Since they're too big right now, I'm barefooting it. Brisk, baby!

It hasn't been the day I planned exactly. I'm pooping out on my workout today. I'm gonna bump up to level 3 on Shred either tomorrow or Monday anyways. Today is rainy and cool, so I'm gonna just chill.

Breakfast was a fat feast. I de-boned a chicken carcass and fried up the chicken bits with 3 scrambled eggs. 5-6 hearty pieces of boar bacon and half an avocado. I shouldn't need to eat again til dinner.

I'm sitting on the couch with my sick ratty sleeping on a blanket beside me. He got a nasty gash from one of the other boys. I'm thinking of just giving him a snuggle blanket in the clothes basket from now on. He's not eating or drinking, poor boy. :( Gotta get cleaned up though. I still haven't showered.

I guess I'm gonna run to the grocery. Tom's of Maine toothpaste is supposed to be on sale for $2.50 and I want to grab several. Then I'm heading up to Ithaca to a coffee shop to watch a friend's band, and drink some really good coffee. Gotta stop in and go tanning too.

I hate being a broke person. I have $22 at my disposal. $6.00 for toothpaste, $4.00 for tanning. That leaves me with $12.00 tops for the coffee shop and anything else I want the rest of the week. Ugh. I figure if I blow it all today then I don't have to worry about making money work until payday because there is none. :P

So...the injinjis must be pretty thin if you can wear them under your Vibrams, hugh? What's their advantage over just going barefoot?
