lol. you guys crack me up!

Just watched Future of Food. UGH (this has become my new favorite expression). I just didn't realize the extremity of the situation with the GMO's. That is something that really needs to be on the label. I'm going to have to talk to my dad about this and see what his opinion is (he used to be a farmer of wheat, oats, sugar beets, and corn in the 70's and 80's). CSA is looking more attractive to me even though it's expensive- I'll have to do more research on it. Genetically engineered everything!

"insert "boobs" in place of ass"

I'm sorry... very odd mental picture.

Mine's my gut. I have no boobs or ass. I'll trade ya both, take your boobs and butt, and you can split my belly between ya.

a good portion of our groceries from the store (now that we have the CSA for produce and our beef in the freezer) is dairy now (milk, cream, cheddar cheese, sour cream, cottage cheese, full fat yogurt... all just this week alone!)
I'm thinking of cutting it out (and getting my husband to play along) for a couple/few weeks to see what it's like... but I think it would be REALLY hard to "let go"... i love using dairy in cooking and love eating/drinking it. Yogurt and cottage cheese are such good easy snacks too.

*sigh*

And about your ass feeling huge? Ditto, except insert "boobs" in place of ass. They are seriously oppressing me haha. At least now I remember why I got the reduction in June - so I no longer feel as guilty for possibly reducing my breastfeeding ability... I can't imagine being pregnant with my huge-ass pre-surgery boobs. Life would be HARD.

My ass feels huge today and I'm uncomfortable. I got into some yogurt covered pretzels and now feel like a cow. Ugh.

My legs are still sore from Saturday's work-out. I did Kenpo yesterday and took today off. I was supremely grouchy and tired today. Double Ugh.

Food: choco/blueberry protein shake, 4 pieces of bacon, eggplant lasagna, nectarine, greek yogurt, walnuts, and the pretzels.

After I drink the rest of my raw milk, I'm going to stop dairy for a bit. I feel like I'm eating it too much.

I stopped logging after about 2 months... I think I got the hang of it and know what I'm eating typically. If I make a change and want to know what it affects I would probably log for about a week and then stop when I had averages/an idea of what it was like.... "Living" is definitely more primal than logging. :)

Yeah, I sometimes get burned out from logging my food. Sometimes (weekends typically) I skip it. Makes me feel good to not care as much for a couple days.

Hmm... will have to shop for P90 at a good price. Eventually Shred will cease to be difficult. :P

I love Asian markets! They have everything you can't get at a regular store and fresh fish to boot.

You guys are being such bad influences with all these decadent banana treats! I plan to try them all of course :-p

Food: blueberry/protein shake, 4 pieces of bacon, eggplant lasagna, lamb chops, cauliflower with kerrygold butter, nectarine, half an avocado

Exercise: P90X Kenpo

I am tired of writing down my food. I just want to LIVE and not think about that all the time. Ugh.

@diana- yep, Power 90 is gonna be somewhere between Shred and X. It would defo be a challenge.

Aww... I know just what ya mean. There's a really great co-op in Ithaca that I love to visit whenever I go to the farmers market. I've tried taking people with me. Nobody likes it because "it smells funny in there." *sigh*

I couldn't afford it this summer with the NE meetup and stuff I'm planning to do, but it would be so awesome if all us girls could get together. I really wish we all lived closer together. :(

after this weekend with the ladies... i am totally pumped about the idea of a primal lady getaway weekend.

i love the girls but it pained me to see them splitting meals meant for one person (to "save up calories" for dinner) and ordering lowfat/nonfat/soy lattes and stuff... and to see the baby being fed goldfish crackers and so much apple juice.

Plus I dragged them into a market in chinatown full of bulk dried stuff. It smelled amazing to me in there - reminded me of the restaurants in China - earthy, clean, healthy smells... and the other girls were all "eww what is that smell? What's that weird looking thing in there?" :( I'm sure y'all would react differently.

Hannah that sounds amazing! I like baking them in the skin- wrapped in foil. Put some nut butter and/or chocolate in it, maybe some home-made whipped cream. Beats the heck out of a sundae. :)

How does P90 compare. Is it somewhere between 30 Day Shred and P90X you think?

DC put a couple in the freezer! The frozen banana, 1/4 avocado, 1 tbs cocoa/sprinkle cinnamon (and 1 tbs water) ice cream is really good! Last time I put some shredded coconut in there too and it was good :) I haven't been too strict about carbs lately, just staying below 80ish for the most part.

Hubs wants P90X, we'll see if he gets it. I really don't know, it's so expensive! I doubt I would do the whole program ever, but maybe a modified, every other day version wouldn't be bad!

yeah I'm thinking bump up the fruit too. Usually the fruit I eat is just the 1/2 cup of blueberries or rasberries that go into the protein shake. apple with almond butter sounds SO good right now!

I'm sure P90X is way harder than Shred. It would be like a step down. I just wish P90X didn't cost so much.

Hmm... carby cravings. When I'm needing sweets I make this really yummy dish. Frozen blueberries, nuked in the microwave until hot. Then I sprinkle Z-sweet (erythritol) over the top so it's extra sweet. It's like having cobbler.

Or a pear with almond butter. Anything drizzled with a bit of honey. Typically I try to stick to fruit or good dark chocolate. :)

hannah, good for your husband for trying so hard. Yes, the bread gave me sharp, stabbing pains in the stomach. :-/ I get really strong carb cravings when I'm doing P90X and I defo noticed a difference this past week since the intensity level of the exercise increased. I'm doing it every other day so it's not like before doing every day. Need to figure out how to satisfy the carb need without caving into starchier products. I have dried apricots and my chocolate/blueberry protein shakes. Probably should add a sweet potato more often. My fat is already about 70% and I don't want to take that higher. Anyway- I tried to get into the Shred but I wasn't feelin it so went back to the X.

Today I went grocey shopping and got some D drops too. Then I did P90X Legs & Back. Food has been 2 deviled pickled eggs, 1 regular egg, 1 chocolate rasberry protein shake, and eggplant lasagna. Was supposed to be manicotti but I took the easy way out. now I'm sipping on a pinot noir.

Saw the Secret Life of Bees last night. So good but sad. Next up is The Future of Food.

That's all. I had a good day :-)

Glad to hear that your job got better through the week! And TGIF for sure, this week has been so slow for whatever reason.

The bread didn't hurt your tummy? I literally can't eat it anymore. Painful bloating/joint inflammation. Hubs was saying just yesterday that after being really good for only a week (his first whole week, maybe 10 days even) having NO grains at all, he ate some mexican food in AZ and had terrible "gastric distress" literally 10 minutes after his meal. He was a little sad that this way of eating makes cheating nearly impossible if you want to avoid serious tummy troubles.

Amen to that! I'm thrilled today's friday! :) TGIF!

Mmm... friday fish...

That's one thing I really miss from CW days. Friday fish fry. A big slab of battered and fried fish, home-made mac n cheese, and coleslaw. *drool* I will have to invent a Primal version. I miss the friday fish fry.

Deb- for the most part the co-workers have been super supportive. There are a couple that I detect have some issues but I'm trying not to let them get to me.

Today I did P90X arms & shoulders and a 30 min walk. Food: chocolate/blueberry protein shake, 2 eggs, turkey sandwich (with bread- I had a craving), and 4 pickled deviled eggs (SO GOOD). I actually made fish for dinner but I'm not going to eat any cuz the eggs made me full :-p I will take it for lunch tomorrow.

I am so glad tomorrow is Friday. I'm pooped!

Glad to hear work was better for you. How have the co-workers been with you switching roles/jobs? I found that sometimes that wasn't easy, but I'm sure it depends on the situation.

That parm recipe sounded great - I think I have might have to steal it from you!
