But the numbers don't lie. So the next experiment is to see if the A1c starts creeping back up since the metformin has been discontinued. If it creeps back up with the primal eating, then I will know that it is really and truly a genetic problem because I'm not fat and I exercise a decent amount. Just to put it in perspective- It took me 2 years to get my A1c from 7 to 6 eating a vegetarian, high carb diet (with medication). It hovered around 5.8-6 for quite some time and I just couldn't understand why I couldn't get it lower with all the "healthy" eating. In just 3.5 months I have dropped it from 5.8 to 5.1. Significant. Diabetes, you can kiss my ASS !!
