Weekends are killing my attempts at progress!
So my DH has begun a police academy training program that began 4 weeks ago, with him being there from sunday night to Friday afternoon. So I have the house (and my diet!) all to myself without worrying about his meals. So when he leaves on Sunday, its my time to buckle down and be good. However, the plan is backfiring drastically. As nice as it is to have my time during the week to get down to business and keep myself on track, its just as nice to have him come home and want to take me out to a nice dinner. Its really easy to find healthy food when we go out, but I enjoy a drink or two. And he loves getting dessert to take home, and he brought donuts home for himself for the weekend but of course its really difficult to resist the food when its on your kitchen counter!! It would be unfair for me to tell him not to bring something home when hes working out 5 days a week at the academy and eating really crappy food. So its up to me to be strong. And when he wants to go to the cheesecake factory to get a piece for home and the tiramisu cheesecake is staring at me, after a long week it sure sounds good!! But I seem to turn the Friday night "off plan" meal into a whole weekend off plan. If I could learn how to say OK, Friday night is ok to have a few glasses of wine and a bite of cheesecake, but the rest of the weekend be good! I would be fine. But when he comes home, its like a celebration all weekend since we don't see each other for the whole week. And all he wants to do is eat lol he is a skinny guy, 6 foot and 150 lbs. All his working out all week, he needs the food! haha but I definitely don't... do any other wives out there have a hard time with situations like this? He graduates in December and its my goal to lose 30 lbs by then but if my weekends keep getting derailed, I don't think I'll make it!! (just a side note, he is absolutely not forcing me to eat bad things or drink, he would totally understand if I didn't want to eat the cheesecake or hamburgers and fries or pizza. Its my bad for thinking I deserve it after working so hard all week. But I have to learn that I deserve progress more than dessert  )
