What has helped you change a sleep schedule?
I just switched to evenings at the hospital (3-11:30). I've been getting up at 5 AM for the last... 10 years or so. I'm usually asleep by 9 :) I'm a morning person and this has worked fine for me. Its only been a week or so but I just can't manage to sleep past 5 or 6 AM. I stay in bed and sort of "doze" until 8 or 9 - but it isn't restful sleep. I've got the blackout curtains (which help but aren't perfect - buying some Hefty black bags today to make it even darker) and stop caffeine by 3 and eat by 7... I took magnesium last night and I think I slept better from 1 AM - 6 AM, but I was still up early.
Also, I commute by bike... so I do have to exercise just before coming home - just 15 minutes or so, but it is slightly uphill, so it isn't an easy coast home :)
