Protein & Lifting
I cannot seem to get this down. For one, I've been at this lifting for a bit, two months about. I have not noticed any change in my body doing so. I weigh and measure and neither have budged. My husband says he feels a difference, but he us just being supportive, besides the fact he likes me fat. I feel better and am much stronger (which if I had to pick between looking a certain way or being stronger and feeling better it's a no brainier, looks wouldn't win). With that being said :-( I'm kinda upset about it, all I have read says I can have both :-)
I figure it's my diet, so I started tracking it. I eat under calories, sometimes a full 1000 under. Sometimes not. I should be losing this fat. I am not purposely eating under, I just eat till I get full. It's all the protein I think. Seriously, I'm not even eating the amount of protein that I have calculated is needed, it's way too much food. I thought it was the honey I was having in my morning and afternoon coffee, but cutting it out hasn't made a change. Ideas? Oh, and I know it takes 1 yr for hormones to stabilize after having a baby, but this seems weird to have no change.
If you're getting stronger you're changing.
If you're starving yourself you won't lose weight very well.

So your body weigh and your body measurements have not changed?
And about how overweight are you?
I need to lose a good 40 lbs. And when I used the Atkins diet it dropped fast. Now, not at all.
I'm not starving myself I eat when I'm hungry and stop when I'm full.
I am getting much stronger, it's the best feeling I've had (next to having my kids)
What is the best calculator to use? They all give me different macronutrient numbers so I'm confused.
That's not how it works. You can manipulate whether you feel hunger or not by your macros and other things. Starving is about the difference between calories in and calories out.
If you are 40 lbs over a BMI of 20, then 1000 cal/day may be shooting yourself in the foot.
You didn't answer about weight and measurement so it sounds like maybe you are not getting any measurements? So really you don't know if you are changing??
I wrote in the first post that I weigh and measure. (I do this once a week)
I think the fat and protein keep me full
Got it... I was thinking weighing and measuring food.
Anyway, I'm out of "is it plugged in" checklist. I'm sure some more helpful people will drop in with more thoughts. :-)
What does that mean? I have considered weighing food, but seems so ... Weird
Have you lost weight? What did you do if so?
