Well the idea of limiting calories may have got the better of me today. Poor sleep last night, stressed out with kids and I wanted more to eat.
We did get out for an evening walk which got my daily steps up to 5417.
Yesterday went better as far as cravings and hunger.
Exercise: 15 min bodyweight routine from Instant Fitness. Hard, but good. Body is still fatigued from race.
3 mile walk in the evening after supper. I was feeling stressed from kids and craving chocolate, but did walk instead. Yay me!
Sleep: woke up rested -about 7 hours
Sun: did a bit of gardening
Sun: very little
Tummy giving me a bit of trouble.
Feeling very hungry. Family snacked on chocolate chip cookies. I had to go in other room.
I didn't weigh in this morning, but I'm feeling good in my clothes.
Had a great Mother's Day weekend. Saturday, my husband (ReadyToGrok) and I went into San Francisco for a museum and a hike(3 mile varied terrain). It was a lovely day to ourselves.
Then Sunday I was up with the sun to do some gardening. Then off to church, then a lovely Paleo brunch at my sisters. We had artichoke dip, quiche muffins and three different kinds of pancakes and fresh fruit. It was a lot of fun and so yummy.
Got to go shopping at my favorite clothing store -Athleta! Sporty and feminine. Matches my lifestyle so well. I love being a strong WOMAN. :)
Had a lovely evening at home with my sweet hubby & kids. I felt very loved and well taken care of. Got to bed around 10:30.
Today I woke up at 6 & did a Sprint 8 with Kettlebell squats as the sprint ( 18-21 reps with 35lbs) then the 1:30 moderate pace I do aprox 10 push-ups and 2 pull ups. The 2 minute cool down I do 20 stability ball sit ups holding 8lb medicine ball -reaching for the sky.
Hmmm I just had a thought I could do a plank as cool down too.
Did some stretching and deep breathing afterwards to help body calm down. ( thinking about cortisol)
Time to do some school with the kiddos.
I forgot to mention that the last time I weighed in I was 142.8! My hips down to 40" and waist 31.75". My calories haven't been as low as 1500 yet, but I have stopped snacking at night and increased walking. I may be on to something!
I did better today. No snacking. Hunger at meal times. Getting protein is helping.
I had some dark chocolate. Not sure if it sat well though.
Hi -- thank you for inviting me over to your journal :D I've subscribed so will be keeping in touch.
What app do you use to keep track of your food? I use Daily Burn Tracker but am not crazy about the subscription fee.
Mmmm dark chocolate. I like Lindt's 70% as an occasional treat but it has sugar in it. Baking dark choc is way too bitter, so will need to find a good recipe with coconut sugar or maple syrup...
I use Diet Organizer. I think it was free. Not sure. I like it. Plus it has a place for tracking measurements.
Got it! It was $3.99. I like that it can track all the different nutrients and give you the fat/protein/carb percentage visually. The food list would benefit from an online user-submitted database -- it didn't even have a listing for guacamole. :(
I'll keep testing it out this month and see what works.
Oh, have you tried eating ginger for your stomach issues? It can help. I tend to mix ginger powder in with hummus (pre-primal) or dressing.
Exercise: power yoga stretch 20 min
Walk with boys & friend: 2.8 miles for 2.5 hours
Stress: a little high in afternoon/evening. I was upset and craving chocolate. I had water instead. Had headache when I went to bed.
Today: woke up at 5 to take Tylenol
Skipped workout due to fighting cold. Chose rest.
Weight: 144.2 sigh
I was getting hopeful that the calorie restriction and reduced fat would help move the weight down.
It's only been two weeks since I started the cortisol lowering supplements. Patience, patience, more deep breathing, acceptance. I am doing the best that I can and that is enough.
