acne nearly gone but persistent on forehead
I've been eating paleo for nearly a year now and have experienced a major reduction in acne. I am convinced that giving up grains has been most responsible, along with giving up processed vegetable oils and sugar (I do have some chocolate and honey and I eat a lot of dairy). I would get acne all over my face in the past, but now I only get it on my forehead. My cheeks and chin have been just about perfect recently but my forehead always seems to have at least two areas of inflammation.
I can't figure out what could be the issue. In the fall while I was eating paleo I would have the same issue on my cheeks but then I broke my habit of touching my face (resting my head in my palm while sitting at a desk, for example), showered with only cold water, and stopped wearing hats/beanies. I saw noticeable improvements after doing those things. I have not had a single "cheat" meal of grains since probably last June and I think my gut is in good shape since I eat plenty of yogurt.
I seem to always have some inflammation in the area between my eyebrows. And then I seem to have some inflammation on my forehead, usually in the central part. I should note that these are usually small spots, but they stick out since they are red and the skin is "shiny" (not in a good way). I've tried various natural oils (manuka honey, coconut oil, castor oil, apple cider vinegar, rosehip seed oil) and supplements (Vitamin E, D, K2, Cod Liver Oil) with minimal results. The oils seem to be great at reducing redness but they don't really reduce inflammation. In fact, they seem to increase the "shininess" of the inflammation. Once some inflammation sprouts up, I wait it out for a few days and usually it disappears. But then something sprouts up somewhere else on my forehead.
Any advice? I am frustrated because although paleo has reduced my acne greatly, there's this last little bit that seemingly won't go away.
