I had a Patty Playpal doll. She wasn’t scary by day, but at night as she stood silently in the corner with the street lights casting odd shadows in my bedrooom… “Maaaah! Could you put Patty in the closet?”
Someone opined that someone else was talking out of his ass. In order to attempt levity, I searched for pics illustrating said deed. Sadly a po’ little old girl like moi decided not to step between two big old menfolk, so I’ll post the pics here:
The second one is very disturbing to me. :o
Today I learned that some marsupials are ruminants. Think kangaroo. And apparently once upon a time, there were carnivorous kangaroos. “I’ll have two burgers with everything.” “Dude, you’re a kangaroo.” “And your point is?”
It’s been 15 days since I had any alcohol. I want alcohol.
So, if I eat 1300 calories and wash it down with a “pint” of vodka (12.68 oz because a pint hasn’t meant 16 oz of alcohol in many years), my calorie distribution looks like this:
Pink = fat
Purplish = carbs
Green = protein
Yellowish = alcohol
LOL! It’s so cute. It looks like a little tilted peace sign.
How to spend $50 on a half-hour walk to get exercise… and hooch. Stop at the hooch store. Buy one fifth of bottom shelf vodka and one mid-level vodka (though Cori, who likes her quality hooch wouldn’t probably waste her money on it – I kind of love her for that). The reason for both? Once I have a few shots of the decent one, I won’t give a crap that the other one is rotgut.
Start to walk back home and see that the line at the Jewish Deli isn’t out the door, so stop there. Half a pound of lox, some garlic cream cheese, and a potato knish. That’s all it takes.
“Do you have pickled herring?” “No.”
“Do you have any kind of smoked whitefish?” “We’re out.”
Toto, we’re not in freakin’ New York anymore! In fact, except for the guy running the show, I’d put $50 bucks on the fact that there isn’t a Jewish person within two miles of where I’m standing. More’s the pity.
“We do have chopped chicken liver.” “Do you use schmaltz?” “Sort of.” “Okay, maybe a better question is, do you use industrial oils in your chopped chicken liver?” “No. But in the summer, our matzo ball soup doesn’t sell a lot, so since we usually get our schmaltz from when we make the broth for the soup, I’ve had to use duck fat for the chopped chicken liver.” “Well, that doesn’t suck at all!”
All in all, a decent experience because he told me how to obtain the things I wanted (either through him and what days, or through the Kosher Cajun* in Metarie, which is a suburb of N’Oleans). And because when I got home and tasted a piece of the lox, my taste buds had a small but gratifying tastegasm.
*Just the expression Kosher Cajun makes me chuckle. Bet there aren’t a lot of those around.
They also carry an 11 pound jar of preserved lemons for $39 which I thought was pretty reasonable, even though I could do my own for much less. If I look at the fact that it would probably cost me $8-10 for a jar that big, it might be worth buying them once and then using the jar to make my own.
He had an imported canned tuna that was $59 for just under four pounds, but he was quick to point out to me that his cost was $52. I’ll pass. But I do miss tuna.
I have a question about bad landlords. If your landlord did something that showed you that he was truly a fucktard and basically thought being a landlord meant collecting rents without regard to fixing shit, would it be totally out of line, when you moved, to superglue all the appliances and closet doors shut? Just wondering…
Moments later, Anthony Yahle's heart monitor showed signs of life, Dr. Raja Nazir, his cardiologist at Kettering Medical Center, told ABCNews.com. It wasn't a regular heart beat, but once or twice a minute, the monitor would pick up tiny electrical movements.
"When I looked at the electrical activity, I was surprised," Nazir said. "I thought we'd better make another effort to revive him."
Wednesday’s food: Coffee w/coconut oil. Meatloaf that was pretty much half ground pork, half ground beef, with some rice, tomato, eggs, and spices. Sardines. Proteing shake with a tablespoon of cocoa.
