I've felt pretty good having a potato maybe twice a week. If I'm otherwise primal, a good potato meal will somehow cause next-day weight loos for me.
Hash browns make a great mattress for fried eggs. Baked potatoes, cut in half, mashed up with sour cream in the skin and eaten out of hand are my fave 'fast food'.
It helps that we grow a few hundred pounds of different varieties and have a good storage protocol.

I think potatoes were avoided in paleo due to saponins and being nightshades, a common allergy for some people, not really because they have carbohydrates. Sweet potatoes are not the same plant so they were considered safer to eat than white potatoes.

OMG, that's brilliant. I actually think that might hit the spot when I'm craving something sweet in the evening.

The potato is literally my favorite food. However, I haven't had once since I started. I am afraid it will kill my weight loss.

Why would you think that?

It's a nightshade, automatic no-no. Since giving up nightshades my rosacea is gone entirely. Why flirt with disaster?
