BAMCIS! LOVE MY SKILLET! Made some pork chops and a "not from the chow hall" REAL steak! Holy crap I forgot how good real meat tastes! Here goes:
B: Small kine omlette with ham, cheese (really need to recommit to no dairy or at least cheese after reading Mark's last thing about pre-shredded cheese), mushrooms, tomatoes and onions. Two strips of bacon, a bowl of cottage cheese (I eat this on weekends when I know I am only getting two meals), a grapefruit and a small bowl of raw broccoli, tomatoes and carrots.
L: NIL! Fast.
D: STEAK! A REAL STEAK seared in coconut oil! Half a pork chop, bunch of "steam fresh" broccoli.
1- 235x5 reps
2- 245x5 reps
3- 285x5 reps
4- 315x5 reps
Unilateral, dumbbell, squat thrusters (killer excercies if you've never done it, really hits your whole body)
12 tire flips with a MATV tire (bigger than a 7 ton tire)
10 minutes on the heavy bag
GREAT DAY TODAY! Despite having to get up at the crack of dawn to go to an accountability formation for absolutely no reason I still ate clean, got a great workout in - my lats are pretty stoked - and I GOT TO COOK MY OWN FOOD for the first time in about two months; all in all a great day and looking for a repeat tomorrow!
Another great day! Relazin all day for the most part, got my workout in the afternoon and got to watch the FIRST profesional female UFC fight in history, a big deal. Great match up, the champ is a former Judo Olympic gold medalist - the ONLY American to medal in the sport and the contender was a female Marine veteran who did 3 tours in Iraq, pretty legit! Other than that I just relaxed and enjoyed my Sunday. This is the first weekend I haven't had a horrid amount of homework - or ANY homework for that matter - so it felt good to be able to tell myself I had nothing to do! Here is the day:
B: Omlette: cheese (ditchin it this week), ham, bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms. Two slices of bacon (I am going to talk to management, this two slices of bacon shit is rediculous), I did cheat a TAD in anticipation of my workout and had some potatoes salad. It was there, covered with paprika and looked amazing. No fruit though
L: IF, no lunch chow on the weekend
D: Organic Arugula (for some reason this stuff is mad cheap on island) cherry tomatoes, 1.5 porkchops from yesterday, rest of the broccoli, a couple baby pickles and a deliciosu glass of red wine.
*Pretty clean eats and feel great! Honestly think the potatos salad hurt my workout today more than helped, shoulda stuck with grapefruit.
Ran about .7 miles and did the following pushup routine:
15 diamond push ups
15 regular push ups
15 wide push ups
15 spider crawl push ups
15 dive bombers
*Max out push ups
Ran back the same .7 miles but its basically all up hill the way back
*repeat the above push up routine
- I also walked a shite ton today. I have a sailor who is on bed rest so I have been delivering him meals in bed and he lives about .7 miles away so thats about 3 miles of walking.
Another great day! Ill get to the 100 percent primal thing shortly, phasing in and its good, had someone tell me I looked like I have been working out so that is always good! Gettin some!
^^my roommate ordered a pizza, I am NOT eating it.
I have enjoyed reading your journal. I have a personal interest in your circumstances because I have a son in Okinawa. Based upon what I have been able to gather from conversation with him and your journal confirms it primal eating is not an easy task over there. I am assuming you are in barracks, based upon your mention of a roommate.
As of late it seems the PT routine may have changed up a bit for my son's group. Instead of running for miles and miles in the wee hours of the morning there appears to be a bit of a change up. PT sounds a bit more primal. If you would like you can private message me to continue this conversation.
I added you as a friend, who is your son stationed with??
I just got some Steves Paleo kits in the mail and they are AWESOME. Tasty and totally nutritious. You CAN eat primal here it just get very boring because of the lack of variation and at least where I am at there is no grocery store nearby. Its also hard to avoid some of the tempations available like the gross amount of starchy carbs and sugars your practically force fed at every meal. I ordred some egg protein also because I am trying to quit dairy and a raw food supplement to help replace some of the veggies I cant get.
Luckily I am not attached to a unit that feels chronic cardio is necesary on a regular basis. Great gyms are around though so lifting heavy things should not be a problem!
B: Scramble with ham, eggs, CHEESE (I actually ordered it without and the guy made with cheese anyway :( ), mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, etc. Sausage, some sour cream and salsa. Also, a grapefruit and some honeydew melon.
L: Paleo crunch bar (Steves Paleo, AWESEOME) and some grass fed jerky also from steves!
- I had a weird day today and escort a patient to the hospital. Long story short, my ride back got screwed up and I got stuck down south till almost 8 at night.
D: 1.5 scoops of Optimum egg protein, a scoop of "Perfect Food" raw food supplement, a handful of pistachios and an orange.
Thats it, no WOD, takin a rest, my triceps hurt from yesterday. Full speed ahead!
Boring day, relatively easy day at work but everyone is back from Thailand now so the gym was rediculously packed, as in 40 people in the weight room so I passed. I really need to just commit to getting up earlier and getting to the gym when they open.
B: Same thing everyday but finally they didn't put cheese in my eggs and instead of honeydoo melon I had 1.5 grapefruits.
S: Small size paleo kit, satisfying with a cup of coffee
L: Some kind of shrimp in a tomatoe-ish sauce, bunch of raw veggies and a really small serving of sliced potatoes
D: STEAK, a fresh salad with arugula and cherry tomatoes and a paleo crunch bar becuase I didn't feel like I ate enough.
NOW I feel like I ate to much, not physically but mentally, because I didn't work out. Really need to commit to the early morning and embrace the before sunrise workout.
^^Oh yea, I had some serious stomach issues today, not sure why but it was bad. I felt like hell for about 3 hours today and I am not sure why.
^probably chow hall, bastards.
