Oh, bowel is now a steady painful. Hurts to turn to either side. Had several bouts of violent diarrhea last night, all associated with stabbing pain I've never felt before. Game is on. I'm going 100% GAPS on this puppy. Apparently Crohn's is common for people of my age, it can occur suddenly like this, and I've read several people who report GAPS put their IBD/Crohn's into remission.
Please go see a gastroenterologist. Crohn's can be a very serious, life-threatening illness. You can and should do everything possible to decrease inflammation (ie, GAPS, specific carbohydrate diet, etc.) but sometimes a short-ish course of treatment will put you into remission.
I had a fullblown presentation for my first (and only) bowel episode: uveitis, erythema nodosum, severe sacroilitis and spine pain with sciatica, and bloody diarrhea. (My colon was affected by Crohn's.) I went into remission quite quickly with Azulfidine and never needed meds again....and that was 30+ years ago.
I hope you get well soon. Take care of yourself, be wise.
OP, are you or have you ever been an excessive alcohol ingestor?
OP, are you or have you ever been an excessive alcohol ingestor?
Yeah, about eight years ago I was drinking to die. But I quit, and haven't has so much as a drop since. After reading a lot of stuff about it, my recent uptick in the consumption of oranges is the most probable culprit. I'm doing fine today. Almost no pain, normal stools, eyes stable. Wearing blue-blockers as often as possible to make sure my eyes can rest. But I am doing GAPS for a good long while, with tons of turmeric and avoiding stress. The symptoms are all about gone, but I'm going to give due time for healing.

For Liver Support = NAC, Milk Thistle, Dandelion, Cruciferious (sulfur) foods, Curcumin, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Wheat Grass, Celery, Cinnamon, Licorice
Obviously limiting/abstaining from alcohol consumption, smoking etc.
Excessive fructose consumption over burdens the liver too.
Yes, I haven't had dandelion in far too long. :(
