Uggg, another sleepless night. I've been awake mostly since midnight, though I did doze a little from 3-4 am. I had kind of a gnawing thing going on in my stomach. But, this morning I was down a pound from yesterday so I'm quite happy.
Today is an up day, YAY, lol:
4:45 am: 1 raw coconut macaroon; 2 cal/mag chewables; 1 commuter mug of brewed decaf coffee w/2T Organic Pastures cream
7:00 am: 3 oz polska kielbasa
11:30 am: 85% ground beef patty, 1.75 oz Organic Pastures Raw Cheddar, broccoli w/butter and 1 small avocado (or less, it looks like it has soft spots which may be rotten)
[TC]: Undecided for dinner
Up for today, I need to take my car in this morning to have the paint touched up in a couple of places and also drop off my pink slip for the old car.
**UPDATE: dropped off my car, but the salesman neglected to tell me that they would have my car until as late as Friday because they have to sub out the body work, lol. Sheeeshhh, the paint defect is so small, I'd be tempted to just try to repair it myself (if I knew what I was doing). I'm driving a hybrid loaner.
Alright, I don't know what's going on but I woke up at midnight again and could NOT get back to sleep. And, it's catching up to me because I don't feel good today. I almost stayed home, but decided to haul myself in because I can always leave early and I've got to take a little time off sometime this week to pick up my car. So, clearly, it wasn't the caffeine that was causing it as I haven't had any for 2 weeks. I'm sure there is a tiny bit in my decaf, but the point is I'm sleeping WORSE than I was when I was drinking regular coffee, lol.
Today is a down day, but I've already decided that I am going to eat more than the recommended calories. I'm not planning on going hog-wild, but am adding some fats, so that will drive up the calorie count some.
4:45 am: 2 cal/mag chewables; commuter cup of decaf coffee with 2T Organic Pastures Cream
7:00 am: 1 hard boiled egg w/ 1/2 packet mayo
11:30 am: 2 hard boiled eggs w/ 1 packet mayo and several romaine leaves
5:00 pm: Fage FF Greek Yogurt; 5 slices Wellshire Farms bacon
Finally got some sleep last night. Had to take a melatonin tablet about 30 minutes before bedtime, and I still woke up throughout the night, but at least I went back to sleep each time. I'll probably take one tonight as well just for good measure.
Today is an up day, so normal eating:

Slept okay, but woke up a lot heavier than yesterday...guess dinner choices weren't so great, lol.

Phew, lost those 2 pounds of water weight and am back down. So today is the start of my 3rd week of ADF and I've lost a total of 6.4 pounds, which is just slightly over a 2 pound loss per week. Not bad and definitely something that hasn't happened before with any other recent eating plan. It's very encouraging!
Today is the start of my 4th week and it's an up day.
5:30 am: 1 raw coconut macaroon, 2 cal/mag chewabes; 1 mug of decaf coffee with probably 3T of cream
8:30 am: Starbucks Iced Cafe Americano w/sugar free syrup (though it didn't taste like she put any in at all) and a splash of HWC
10:00 am: Green shake (spinach/spring greens, 1/2 avocado, almonds, 1/2 medium banana, couple drops of liquid stevia); 1/2 can of smoked oysters; 1 square Lindt 90%; 2 tiny squares Green & Black 85%
2:45 pm: 2 savory Turkey Sausage; 2 Classic Pork Sausage; 1 cup fresh mushrooms sauteed in 1T butter
Slept very well. Took an allergy tablet yesterday afternoon (also one the previous day, and a melatonin tablet Wed/Thurs nights). Had a very brutal massage yesterday (too many knots so she really worked me over) and I think my muscles are holding onto water for dear life. I'm up slightly in weight today.
It's an down day today.

8:30 - 9:45 am: walk to Starbuck's then to the farmer's market, then home carrying 10 pounds of produce/food.
3:40 pm: medium yukon gold baked potato; 3 oz grass feed organic ground beef (Organic Pastures)
5:00 pm: 2.5 oz grass fed ground beef
Good sleep string broken, lol. I could NOT get comfortable last night. Dozed off a few times, but not for long and then I would spend a long time trying to get comfortable again. My hip was "out" for whatever reason...could be the 10+ pounds I lugged home from the Farmer's Market (though I did try to switch sides so it would be even), or from the brutal massage on Saturday...not sure. I even did stretching last night before bed because I could sort of feel it "out". It's more muscle I think, so I'll do more stretching tonight.
Even with lack of good sleep, I woke up excited today for some reason. It being an UP day probably has something to do with that, but also, I started thinking about how much my way of thinking has changed since going primal, then EMF, and now ADF. I've cut down so much on the junk, which includes sugar free splenda in my coffees. I put a little in this morning and it actually tasted weird. I think I'm at a place where I can even try an iced coffee without the sweetener.
I'm also excited because I've been eating raw dairy products for over three weeks now and they haven't caused a sinus infection or any gastrointestinal upset. That amazes me. I'm not sure whether my gut has healed since cutting out gluten in 2005, or if it's just the raw products. Whatever, it's fun to be able to have some variety by adding yogurt, cheese and some cream.
Another exciting thing...I'm back down to my lowest weight and the scale even flashed to 169.? at some point in the settling process. That's darned exciting.

5:00 pm: Fat bomb: 2T each of almond butter and coconut oil mixed with a little bit of unsweetened cocoa powder, 3 drops of stevia and unsweetened coconut flakes
It's a down day today and I am having a renewed excitement about the UPDD thing (perhaps because I started reading the book last night, lol).

6:30 am: 3 slices Applegate Farms Organic Turkey w/a little mustard and a clementine orange (very small)
11:08 am: Medium yukon gold potato with a little butter rubbed on each half and salted; 1 cup of Pacific Organic Vegetable broth---sheesh that baked potato tasted GOOD! :)

Uggg, slept slightly more than the night before, but still only got about 4 hours. I still feel "off" from yesterday, so I'm glad it's a down day.
Finished reading the JUDDD book...skimming over the diet recommendations which are kind of SAD...more whole grains, less saturated fat, etc. Also read the tiny book by Beth Christian about ADF. That was a quick fun, no science read. It also nicely explained all this 5:2 stuff I read about here. I think that would be an excellent way to go on maintenance eventually. Today I'll start reading Mosley's book on fasting.
