Feeling okay today and was down a pound from yesterday which sort of surprised me. After lunch yesterday I felt really bloated and stuffed so only had yogurt with some frozen peaches for dinner, but it felt like I was really retaining water. Didn't seem like I let it go either, so I would have expected to stay the same weight or gain. No matter, I'll take it!
I didn't buy much at the grocery store today...I'm just not eating everything, so decided to tone it down. I think I'll go the farmer's market tomorrow and get some raw milk and maybe do a day or two of raw milk only just to see what happens.
Today so far:
Coffee w/HWC and a raw coconut macaroon
Starbucks "skinny" soy caramel crunch frapp
Smoked oysters (small can), 1 square of Lindt 90%
Protein shake: coconut milk, almond milk, egg white protein powder, flax seed meal, unsweetened cocoa powder, stevia, frozen banana
I have been looking over your food choice s. Is there a reason you are going for fatfree yogurt? That and the soy in the latte could be hampering your efforts. How do they make that skinny, anyway/ Artificial sweetener??
Hi Honeybuns...actually the yogurt is full fat...I guess I should specify that better because FF is usually for fat free, lol. Yeah, the soy is definitely bad. I need to get back to my Americano with Heavy cream or coconut milk. Yep, the skinny is with liquid splenda (no fillers, but still chemically altered). You definitely caught me on a really bad day. :O
Wow. I just finished reading a couple really good articles about the dangers of Splenda and sucralose. Did you know that artificial sweeteners have been definitely linked to the increase in brain tumors? Yikes! Take care because you are irreplaceable.
I ordered a latte with heavy cream at Starbucks one time and the reactions I got were funny. The clerk said "You mean whole milk? Or 2%??" Uh, no. Two ladies in line behind me sniggered. I heard one of them say "Guess she doesn't care about getting fat." I made a point of telling the clerk, rather loudly, "heavy cream because I have lost thirty pounds drinking heavy cream." and looked at the ladies as they ordered fat free everything. Bummer that i found out that heavy cream, well all dairy, is not my friend. Do love my coconut milk in tea every day, though.
So far I haven't had any strange looks from the baristas when asking for heavy cream. I have had problems with dairy in the past but in the last few months have been able to have yogurt and heavy cream and even some cheese without any problems. I've been wondering if the problem I had in the past was because I had Celiac and now that I've been off gluten for so long, the gut has healed enough for me to tolerate milk better. I LOVE dairy, so that was harder than gluten to give up and having a little full fat yogurt has been heavenly!
Fortunately I've cut down my sucralose consumption a bunch. Before going mostly primal I was having at least two iced coffees a day with liquid splenda in them. Now I have it only one or two times a week. I think eventually I will get rid of it totally. I've carried my own "milk" to Starbuck's before, so will probably do that more as I try to rid myself of the last of the poisons in my diet.
I had a nice deep tissue massage yesterday which was great. Up for today is a nice walk to Walgreen's to look for a couple of things, then to the Farmer's Market to pick up some raw milk products and back home. I may or may not stop at Starbucks for some coffee.
5:45 am: home brewed decaf (water) w/2T heavy cream and 1T coconut palm sugar
7:00 am: 2 eggs, 5 slices very thin nitrite/nitrate free bacon, 1 cup sliced mushrooms, 1 T Kerrygold garlic herb butter, 1 slice cheddar cheese
8:15 am to 9:00 am: walk to Walgreen's then to Farmer's Market which was closed this week due to a special event, then walked home--NO STARBUCKS, lol
9:05 am: Coco Cafe Coconut Water latte
12:00 - 12:45 pm: hand wash and dry car...hey it's still new, lol
2:00 pm: 5 oz chicken liver, sliced mushrooms in Kerrygold garlic herb butter; 1 raw coconut macaroon
5:00 pm: 1.25 oz 85% grass fed ground beef w/ 1 slice cheddar cheese
An official up day, though the last two were moderate to normal. I am having dinner out with the girls...we do this 4 times a year to celebrate each other's birthdays. We always eat at the Outback Steakhouse because of my food intolerances...they have a nice gluten free menu and are very accommodating.
4:50 am: 1 raw coconut macaroon (sadly, the last as the shelves were bare when I went grocery shopping); 1 cal/mag chewable; commuter mug of brewed decaf coffee with 2T HWC
7:00 am: 3 oz polska kielbasa
11:15 am: 4.5 oz of 87% grass fed beef w/1 slice of cheddar cheese
[TC] Outback: may get my usual appetizer Shrimp on the barbie with a baked potatoe, or may get a dinner...not sure yet--will print the menu in a bit and try to decide before I get there. :)
Dinner last night was fun, and I stuck to my original thought, the shrimp appetizer and a baked potatoe.
Today is a busy day, and it's officially a down day, though I can feel already a bit of struggle.
I brought to work the entire 6 oz package of Applegate Organics slices roast beef made into "rolls" with a little smear of mayo and mustard and a sliver of pickle which I will eat throughout the day.
6:45 am: sliced roast beef roll with coffee
A blah day gone worse, lol. It's turned into a medium day instead of a down day...fortunately not TOO terrible as far as food
Finished my sliced beef rolls, then had some fruit (melons) left over from an event, and they had a few pieces of bacon left as well, so I had 4 slices, and sheesh were those good! I also had three squares of Ghiradelli Dark Chocolate with Almonds and Sea Salt.
Dinner will be Fage full fat yogurt with a couple of drops of stevia
Uggg, it's been super busy at work so I haven't had much time to post. Today was an okay day...was trying for VLC, HF, but ended up having about 54g of carbs. I'm just trying to get the carb cravings under control again. Might as well wait now until Monday since I'll be going on a short overnight trip to visit a friend and we'll be going out to dinner and breakfast.
Ugggg, I hate being super busy, lol. I really do stress eat and I can't figure out a way to stop that...it was a lot easier when the carb cravings weren't so strong.
Finally have a minute to post. Still super busy at work.
