I actually have a manual dripolator and it works wonderfully. It only requires one extra step (boiling the water first in a separate pot so you can pour it in the top). Not bad.

Two elderly ladies at the supermarket buying lots of healthy fruit and veg, and some low-fat something or other. One said 'Is that low-fat?' and the other replied 'Of course, I always buy low-fat!'
They were both rather large, but unfortunately so am I, so I feel like I can't start preaching at the checkout just yet!
There are a bunch of farms up your way that look pretty interesting, Weathergirl. I remember when I started sourcing direct from farms I checked out eatwild.com, and I remembered seeing a number of farms in the SC area.
Yes this area has so many great resources for local foods. its a primal dream come true. And I especially appreciate it having come from new jersey, right out of Manhattan.

shake it to death
et voila! icey cream
Wait, really? This is potentially dangerous information....

I had frozen raspberries and poured heavy cream over them. raspberries froze the cream so I mushed it all up with my spoon and stirred it around. Oh, tasty raspberry ice cream without the sugar and eggs!

Like making eggy muffins... WITHOUT my silicone muffin pan, because MiL borrows but does not return things.
Don't ever be tempted to make egg muffins without the benefits of silicone! :(
Last nights dinner will haunt me for a week just from the scrubbing up that had to be done.

I do this with frozen strawberries and stab/smash them with a fork. Delish!
